Reduces Stress and Anxiety In Children
Powerful Breathing Techniques Helps Children Effectively Manage Stress

Fort Worth, TX -- America is in panic mode, suffering from a barrage of anxiety-related disorders. According to the Anxiety Disorder Association of America, www.adaa.org, 19.1 million, 13.3%, of the American adult population is affected.

But adults aren't the only ones that are suffering-so are America's children.

The U.S. Surgeon General states that stress-related anxiety disorders are the No. 1 mental health issue for children with an estimated 13% of the American child population affected. Children are shouldering adult-sized stresses-inheriting stress-related, anxiety disorders directly from their parents.

The numbers don't lie. The number of children affected closely mirrors that of their adult counterparts.

"Parents must understand that children learn by modeling, whether positive or negative. Therefore, it's vital for parents to learn-and use-effective stress-management techniques, so not to pass negative, self-destructive behaviors to their children," says Tom Goode, N.D., Managing Director at the International Breath Institute in Tucson, Arizona.

And those behaviors are devastating-emotionally, physically and financially.

Anxiety disorders are the most expensive consequence of ineffective stress and anxiety management at $42 billion-almost one-third the annual U.S. mental health bill of $148 billion-according to the "Economic Burden of Anxiety Disorders" report from the ADAA.

More disturbing, however, is that many anxiety-related disorders can be remedied without expensive medical treatments. The report further states that $22.84 billion in anxiety-related healthcare costs are for symptoms that mimic physical illness-and not illnesses themselves.

"Because children lack the communication skills of adults, they are unable to communicate their feelings of stress and anxiety. Instead, they complain of physical symptoms, such as stomach aches, headaches or sleep disorders," says Tom Goode, N.D. "Naturally, their parents don't recognize their complaints as stress or anxiety-related symptoms and take them to their family physician."

But teaching parents-and children-how to effectively recognize and manage stress and anxiety before medical intervention is necessary is the key.

Take eight-year-old Gregory, whose severe stress and anxiety caused horrific nightmares that tortured him for well over a year. Gregory's stress came from his parents' high expectations of him, which became more intense after the loss of their baby to Sudden Infant Death Syndrome. Clearly, the entire family was under stress, including little Gregory.

Before finding relief from the International Breath Institute's Full Wave Breathing™ program, Gregory had fears of not living up to his parents' expectations. An anxious, panicky child, Gregory often held his emotions in, resulting in physical symptoms and sleep disturbances, including nightmares. After using the Full Wave Breathing™ program's conscious, deep breathing techniques, Gregory has become a more relaxed child, who is finally able to manage his emotions-and his life.

Traditional medicine has long recognized the significant benefits of deep breathing in stress and anxiety-disorder management programs. "Many stress-management programs incorporate conscious breathing, which is a significant component in our Full Wave Breathing™ program, a less expensive yet highly effective alternative to traditional anxiety treatments, especially for our precious children," says Tom Goode, N.D.

"We are pleased with the effectiveness of Full Wave Breathing™ in adults and children alike. Our goal is to help as many people as we can live anxiety free lives," states Caron Goode, Ed. D., also Managing Director of the International Breath Institute.
