What If It Were As Simple As Remembering To

Just Breathe!
...and then doing the next thing?

 Special Announcement

Your Just Breathe! ezine is coming early as I am preparing materials for two workshops that are scheduled for the end of this and the first of next month. The first, titled Invitation to Divinity, focuses on the essential wholeness of each person embarked upon their individual spiritual journey—and how to access the needed energy to transform life’s difficulties into life’s growth opportunities; to transcend one’s habitual negativity and access the wisdom within. This gathering is essentially a celebration of who and what we all are—Spirit in action—with the benefit of awakening and anchoring that memory deep within the cells of the entire mindbody.

The second gathering is IBI’s 3-day Life & Spirit Mastery Program where participants learn how to easily and reliably access the Source of wisdom within, and become a spiritual resource for others. Graduates of this program, upon completing reading and field work, are certified by IBI as Breathing Facilitators. Learning how to use breathing as the basic resource, graduates are enabled to assist others using the same tools, techniques and methods they have learned and successfully used in their own lives.

If you live in the Northeast, you could still enroll in either or both of these programs; Saturday, April 28 and Saturday, May 5th through Monday, May 7. If you are so moved, call Linda Osga @(401) 258 6537.

P.S. For those of you who have no desire for certification, you can attend two wonderful days of the 3-day gathering at a special price.

Please call Linda for the details.

Just Breathe! the ezine of The International Breath Institute (IBI), is sent to you from Dr. Tom Goode. IBI shows you how to be fully alive and in optimal health through lifestyle management--learning to live in harmony and alignment with your holistic nature.

As a whole (holistic, holy) being you are comprised of physical, emotional, mental and spiritual aspects coordinated within one unitary expression. The four aspects of your mindbodysoul system are examined and described separately for clarification.

Content
IBI's web site focuses on Full Wave Breathing because it is the single most important exercise for your health. Use it to become fully alive--get well, be well and do well.

Read It Over and Over
Some of the information in the ezine is repeated so it becomes ingrained in your consciousness. Each month it changes slightly, becoming more refined and defined. Look for the changes, shifts in emphasis and expansion of ideas in each new issue.

The usual human tendency is to have to hear or read things many times before acceptance sinks in. This very normal process occurs when an idea is first introduced and we discount it. Repeated exposure brings us to acceptance, and finally adoption of the idea. Then changes occur automatically and if by some magical process.

Simple Messages As Well

If you get just the breathing part of the information and use it, you would be able to effectively manage 85% of your biochemistry and boost your mindbodysoul system's natural healing ability. How important would that be in your life? How great do you want to feel?

Healthcare
If you don't take care of your own health you become a participant in what is known as "Healthcare," a system predicated upon the study of sick people and focusing on how to "fix" them. It addresses symptoms rather than causes and treats disease as an enemy to be eradicated.

Self-Responsible Self Care
How would you treat illness if it was not your enemy, and was instead only a message concerning stressors in your mind and body? Most likely you would cooperate with the body using principles based upon natural health. The first place you could profitably begin is with the most basic foundation of life, your breathing.

Your mind and body work pretty well until you start storing stressors in your cells and tissues and in your breathing muscles. The chronic stress makes you become a shallow breather,  wearing upon your immune system. Your blood becomes toxic, and lacking oxygen and energy, your body is unable to defend itself against either internal or environmental stressors. The result is discomfort, disease, disability and premature death.

You can practice preventative medicine on your own--by doing the things you know to do to support your autoimmune health: Eliminate toxins, manage toxic emotions, avoid toxic noise and breathe!

Holistic Practices
The foundation of all holistic health practices is deeper, effective breathing, which affects your respiration, circulation, vitality, digestion, assimilation, and more. Breathing affects your entire system. Master your breathing and you master the ability to stimulate your healing resources
.

High Blood Pressure, Anxiety and Worry

Have high blood pressure? Use your breathing to promote the unimpeded flow of consciousness through every cell in your body. Healing takes place on all levels. Your breathing determines your physical vitality, your emotional calmness, your mental focus and your spiritual awareness. Practice Full Wave Breathing for 30 days, and you will see your life absolutely transform!

Simple Yet Vital
If you were to "get" the value of breathing and actually employ its daily use as an exercise leading to a healthy habit, you'd be well on your way to avoiding disease and enjoying life more fully. Enjoying life more fully enables you to make a greater contribution to the life process itself.

There is Hope
You will be breathing for as long as you are alive. Doesn't it just make good sense for you to perform it in a way that supports rather than undermines your health? Of course it does! Start today!

You can build a new habit of breathing that enhances instead of diminishes the Life force in your body. How do you think that would improve all that you do—having more energy and feeling more emotionally harmonious?

My desire and hope for you is for you to that you will suspend any tendency toward disbelief and actually test the information presented. When it works—and you be the soul judge—then make it part of your improved life. Thank you for subscribing to Jus Breathe!

Audience
The Just Breathe! ezine's focus is on the mindbodysoul aspects of holistic health. The audience is the awakened, those who know themselves to be multidimensional beings with physical, emotional, mental and spiritual aspects. It is for those who practice their purpose by living lives of greater enlightenment and service through the pathways of Love, Joy and Peace.

Just For Today!
Follow the instruction at the end of the ezine. You may repeat the exercise tomorrow if you like your result today.

The Soul
If your interest is expanding your consciousness (increasing conscious awareness) as a spiritual being, then this ezine is for you. It is a community (common unity) connection for awakened beings, integrating the wonder of Life. It shares an alternative (holistic) view of human existence intended to expand the mind's understanding...until it feels safe and reassured in its own logic and learns to live from the heart, from the higher consciousness. The result, with the heart and the head working together is operating from "higher" consciousness.

The higher your consciousness, the more whole your life--and the greater is your access to health and happiness. To increase your consciousness just a little is significant because the increase is logarithmic and represents a transformational shift.

Having awakened, the next step is to heal the body so the soul can express most freely its creativity and joy that become the source-connection of transformation for others. The lower body housing the gut brain is harmonized with the head/heart operating as one. The vibratory effect on others is harmonious, uplifting and, in-turn, transformative. One-by-one each part of the whole sound his note until music abounds.

 To review let's look at:

The ABC's of Higher Consciousness

Attitude--Either expectant or repellant; positive or negative; open or closed to Life; and embracing as differentiated from resisting; healing or declining; you can get better or you can get bitter.

Breath--Let your exhale demonstrate the complete surrender to God/Universe of all cares and concerns; becoming non-resistant to the tensions of the body, relax the cells, molecules and atoms. Use your breathing throughout your day, both to re-mind yourself of your spiritual nature, as well as to boost your health and energy.

Choice--Either you listen to the voice for Love or the voice for Fear, that of ego. One knows that all are innocent; the other blames and sees the guilty. Teach your brain to tune into the Love channel; access your essence. Choose to awaken, to understand and to change

Determination--Nothing happens without your dedicated effort. Even something as simple as breathing requires your participation. To achieve more in life, there must be more invested. Usually all that is required is the gift of time. Determine today that, just for today, you will be the determining factor in your life.

Energy—All is energy vibrating at different rates. Each lives, moves and has its being in this Energy. It is called Soul, Creator/Source, God, Universe, All That Is.

Commentary

"The aim of public education is not to spread enlightenment at all: it is simply to reduce as many individuals as possible to the same safe level, to breed a standard citizenry, to put down dissent and originality."

-H. L. Mencken

Education is a lifelong undertaking if one is continue to grow/ expand beyond and awaken from/transcend/rise above the predominant fear-based reality as reflected in the media, political process and diplomatic engagements. Its pursuit enables wiser choices to be made daily, leading to successive days of joyful learning and living.

There is more going on than most of us will ever hear about, and certainly not on the nightly news. Educate yourself, learn more about things that interest you and about life itself. Like to broaden your mind, expand your view? Take a look at www.Invitationtodivinity.com.

"A general state education is a mere contrivance for moulding people to be exactly like one another; and the mould in which it casts them is that which pleases the predominant power in the government, whether this be a monarch, a priesthood, an aristocracy, or the majority of the existing generation. In proportion as it is efficient, it establishes a despotism over the mind, leading by natural tendency to one over the body."

-John Stuart Mill

Exercise for the Soul
Enter a place of positive attitude within and mentally imagine your connection to the Universe. Imagine a shaft of light entering your energy field at a spot about 18” above the crown of your head and entering your heart as inhale fully.

1.      Visualize light radiating from the center of your chest. Imagine the light becoming brighter when you inhale.

2.      Imagine your heart distributing the energy to every cell, molecule and atom within your body, harmonizing all systems.

3.      Visualize the light changing color. With each consecutive breath allow the colors to move through the spectrum from red, orange, yellow, green, light blue, dark blue and purple.

4.      When you have finished breathing through the seven colors, breath in a golden-white light.

5.      Imagine any unneeded stress leaving your mindbody as you exhale completely, allowing the muscles to soften and become limp.

6.      Imagine that you are smiling as you exhale.’

7.   Smile as you exhale.

Continue for Seven Minutes or longer after going through the color spectrum and breathing in the golden- white light.

Choosing for LoveDaily Guidance
Within each person is an inner sense called intuition that you can call spirit, God, guidance or Love . When choices arise ask, "What would Love do?"

When you get the answer actively note the quality of feeling within. Is it expansive or contractive; uplifting or depressing? When you consider your choice and the thought to register in your feeling body, how do you like it? Does your choice make your heart glad? If not, make another choice until it feels right to you—for you and only you.

You are in charge. Make the best selection possible for yourself. It would be the loving thing, wouldn’t it? When you act based upon this inner voice, you utilize your highest understanding to get the best result for all.

Breathe deeply and fully as you repeat the word “Love” and settle into your feeling sense. Breathe “into” your heart. Relax and enjoy.

The First Supplement

What is the first supplement I should take—Vitamins or Minerals? The first supplement I recommend is OXYGEN!. It is free for the taking (with Full Wave Breathing) a powerful energizer and detoxificant, and if you breathe with the conscious intention of your health, it is an amazing mindbodyspirit exercise for your entire wellbeing.

The Spiritual Dichotomy

You are either part of the solution or you are part of the problem. You either teach joy or you are part of the problem. You either radiate an uplifting energy or you drag others down.

Use Full Wave Breathing and make your intention to fill all of the cells in your body with Joy. Continue until you can imagine all of the glands, all of the cells and even the molecules dancing inside. Repeat periodically throughout the day. It takes less than a minute to feel better.

Questions and Answers

☼ Is the goal of practicing the Full Wave Breathing everyday to eventually breathe this way naturally all the time?

Eventually you rebuild your breathing muscles, install a memory and neural trace to breathe from deep within when in a stressful situation, when looking for an energetic centering or recharge, and begin to habitually and unconsciously breathe in ways that support rather than undermine your whole health. Normal breathing is performed through the nostrils. Full Wave Breathing, as an exercise, is performed with an open mouth and relaxed jaws.

I hear you say "open to joy" when we breathe----I have been breathing for a while and I don't feel it yet.  Why?

You are still tense…and it takes time. The traditional spiritual teaching uses the metaphor of peeling off the layers of the self—ego—to discover the Self. Keep at it—gently and easily, relaxing as fully as you are able at any time. When I began I was numb with stress and tension and finally discovered how to “relax”—by learning to soften the muscles. As you inhale ALLOW the breath to fill you, keeping your muscles soft. And smile as you perform the exercise!

☼  What is the difference between feeling happy and feeling joyful?

Happiness is dependent upon “happenings” or outside events occurring in your daily life that are in accord with expectation and preference.

Joy is an internal state reflective of a “feeling” of connection with the Universe, All That IS and is independent of happenings. Joy is your natural state so you can have a day without any particular events of good fortune and simultaneously experience joy.

☼ Why is it that the more I breathe the more "stuff" keeps coming up------emotions, health challenges, etc.?

This mental/emotional/physical catharsis continues. And as you depersonalize whatever arises to disturb your peace, you become aware of a misbelief or “stuff” producing mental programming. In last month’s Q&A I suggested that the resolution is as easy as bringing your conscious awareness to the root belief or thought and integrating your new awareness as you breathe with that intention in your mind.

For example, let’s say you begin experiencing waitpersons in a certain restaurant behaving in a way that you would term “rude.” Your ego mind concludes that they are acting in a way that is distressful to you and creates a contraction of your energy as a defense mechanism. The natural response of a waitperson to your energy output would be to contract and act “unfriendly” toward you.

I notice when others are talking about Full Wave Breathing, they say that many times they feel emotional either tears or laughter-----I have never felt this.  Am I missing something or doing it wrong? Everyone is different and at different times will have different experiences. Each person is a path unto themselves to be walked in their own, unique way. The path of breath through the use of Full Wave Breathing is only one of many avenues to the Self. It is up to you to determine how you will pursue your path to your Self—how committed, how active, how embracing.

         ☼ What’s wrong with me?

Shallow breathing creates chronic stress that reinforces shallow breathing and weakens the immune system producing symptoms of imbalance and toxemia. If it were me, I’d first correct my breathing and, after 30 days with Full Wave Breathing, see how things were progressing. No breath=No life! I wrote an entire book so you can learn how to reverse stress symptoms in less that 30 days and built a new habit that will support you for the rest of your livelier life. Take a look at The Holistic Guide in the Tools for Transformation section.

There is a space within you where all is calm, where you accept life as it is, and where you are at peace. Full Wave Breathing can take you there. Go there often.

Ge-Llama, Prana, Chi, Life Force Energy

The study of science will not put your body aright. It must be tuned up by yourself, that harmony may be expressed through it. But how? What is to be done? Breathe. Breathe into your being that which constitutes life. Breathe Ga-Llama, the centralizing Life principle which is the essence of your being, the principle in which you live, move and have your being.

Ga-Llama, the inspiration of sages, adepts, philosophers, saviors!

Ga-Llama, the invigorator, the inspirer, promulgator, restorer, redeemer!

Ga-Llama which opens the portals of the mind and sends forth the light of wisdom which gives life eternal.

With every indrawn breath, be conscious of yourself, of Ga-Llama which builds up the tissues of a collective existence. It is within you basically; around you eternally. Thoughtlessly you breathe it out into the universe; thoughtfully you draw it into the individual. This water of life is the Breath; the spirit , the essence of life, without which there is no knowledge of your being or existence. –From Health & Breath Culture According to Mazadaznan Philosophy.

The Duh Factor

Remember the warning about the bird flu? The prediction was that between 200,000 and 2 million US citizens would die. So far, there have been no deaths. Plus, the vaccine never worked either in that it did not prevent the death of vaccinated birds.

Keep your immune system strong and get plenty of sunlight this Spring and Summer. Failing that, I’d include 2,000 units of Vitamin D in my supplement intake—increased by 50% in the Fall and Winter months.

Having no market for their vaccine has not deterred the production of yet an increased supply being readied for next year’s flu promotion.

Only 10.5% of parents recognize that their obese child has reached that condition according to a 2003 report published in Obesity, the Journal of The Obesity Society. Of the number reported, no mention was made of the percentage of parents, being so informed, were moved to remedial action.

More and more people are, thankfully, catching on. As I point out in my books, grains are carbs. 85% of the grains people eat are refined carbs; yet event the whole grains are high glycemic, raising blood sugar and insulin levels, promoting obesity and insulin-resistance diseases—like diabetes, heart disease, high blood pressure and gout. It’s your body and your choice as to what you feed it. Will you choose for love—that which nurtures and supports your human spiritual journey; or will you choose that which overloads your system and taxes your resources? Seems like a simple thing, doesn’t it? And because it is not simple, I wrote the two books, The Holistic Guide and Fully Alive to assist you in your process.

The promotion then continues on to market an exercise program that makes you breathe! I do like the program, use its methodology and certainly support breathing and can you do it on your own? I certainly believe so! Simply follow the instructions for Full Wave Breathing. Learn how to breathe without movement first, then use it when you move and throughout your day. First, learn to breathe without movement and allow the energy generated to detoxify and harmonize your mindbodyspirit system. Then incorporate adjunctive, auxiliary and expanded exercise programs

All Is Energy

What if you could learn to direct energy? What would you direct it toward? If you were a unified being, wouldn't you like to direct it to the greatest benefit for all people? Wouldn't that be to express your own fullest potential? Greater enlightenment is the birthright of every soul. The continued expansion of your conscious awareness assures that you are part of the solution to the perceived ails of the world.

Pursuit of ego desires works too--in that it will lead you to conclude that after you have completed your exploration of pleasures, accumulation and worldly pursuits, it is time to fill the emptiness that still resides. The ego path, may, however, be slower and take you several more lifetimes—and can be particularly painful. Re-member your Spirit. It is easy: Just Breathe!

Keep breathing!
Tom

WHO AM I?

You are spirit experiencing the evolution of human consciousness. Every day is a step along your spiritual path that leads to your Self.

EXERCISE CORNER:

Full Wave Breathing is a natural, drug-free, and dramatically effective way to experience health, joy and aliveness that mobilizes and supports your progression toward balance and wholeness. It is a method which accelerates and complements modern healthcare and treatment practices. Use it to inspire yourself so you can inspire others!

The Single Most Important Exercise is Full Wave Breathing

There are 3 Steps, simple as A B C: Abdomen, Belly, and Chest. First, breathe into the lower abdomen and keep your focus there until you can comfortably fill and relax that area of the body. Use your muscles to expand your lower abdomen, beginning at the top or your pubic bone. Second, after filling the abdomen (A) shift your focus to your entire belly (B) or midsection, stretching and distending your diaphragm and ribs as you inhale. Relax everything as you exhale. Use your muscles to push out the lower abdomen, then expand the area just above.

Third, filling A & B, shift your focus to your chest (C) and above. Having expanded the lower portions of the body, stretch up into the chest and back. Make all of your physical movements gentle and slow. All the movement to become very subtle and gentle as you alternately inhale and exhale without pause.

You may find it more comfortable to begin with distinct movements of your body. Allow the process to become like a dance of movement from bottom to top, top to bottom. Later, allow your body to remain completely relaxed as you visualize the movement of energy through you.

Repeat often for the most dramatic results. For more detailed instruction, read below:

Step One of Full Wave Breathing

Place one hand on the abdomen below the navel and the other on the chest. As you inhale, hold the chest still; allowing the abdomen to expand as if you is filling a balloon. Stretch and extend the lower belly. Relax completely into an inhale at the point where the abdomen is distended fully and the lungs are filled. After exhaling, inhale immediately. The chest does not move at all.

Continue breathing with no pause between inhales and exhale. All of the emphasis is upon your inhale. The exhale is a release of the tension created during your inhale. So you will Inhale and relax...inhale...and relax. Continue as you read this instruction to see how simple it is to perform. Breathe through your nose or mouth as you desire. You increase oxygenation by over 50% when you breathe through your mouth because of the normal restriction in nostril breathing.

Close your eyes as you are breathing and then relax for a few minutes when you are done. Allow your breathing to normalize before continuing with your activities. You may perform this exercise while sitting at the computer, riding in the car, or even watching television. Start practicing this exercise today and you'll be pleased with your result!

To help you stay focused on your breathing, place a book or weighted bag on your lower abdomen when lying down and performing the exercise. If you are sitting, to keep your spine erect, imagine that a rope is attached to the middle of your head. The rope rises into the air. In your imagination, allow the rope to gently lift you up until your spine is erect. Sit straight, be open, and breathe.

Step Two of Full Wave Breathing

Continue breathing with no pause between inhales and exhale. Inhale and Relax...Inhale...and Relax.

Count 1 as you inhale and expand your lower abdomen in Step One. Count 2 as you lengthen your inhale and push out the middle of your torso at the solar plexus. Release tension and allow the body to exhale and repeat. Perform this exercise anytime to relax. Do not perform connected breathing when driving or operating machinery.

When lying down, place a pillow under your knees, not under your neck. When sitting, allow yourself to stretch and open your spine as you sit and breathe.

Close your eyes as you breathe and then relax for a few minutes when you are done. Allow your breathing to normalize and return to your tasks.

Step Three of Full Wave Breathing

Continue breathing with no pause between inhales and exhale. Inhale and relax...Inhale...and relax.

Count 1 as you inhale and push out your lower abdomen. Count 2 as you raise the breath and energetic focus to your solar plexus. Count 3 as you move your breath and muscular focus up into your chest, stretching your intercostal muscles, shoulders and back of the neck. Relax completely when you exhale, allowing the muscles to soften. There is no effort or tension involved in your exhale.

Close your eyes as you breathe and then relax for a few minutes when you are done. Allow your breathing to normalize before continuing with your activities. Perform this exercise anytime you are sitting passively to provide a quick and effective energy boost and relaxation.

Keep your spine straight if sitting and allow to your body to move as you breathe and relax. Feel the wave of inhale as air enters your body and the wave of exhale as it leaves. Increase the volume of air and pace of breathing and feel how it affects your experience.

Since resolving stress at the cellular level is below our awareness, there are times when the breathing is accompanied by laughing or crying as old chemistry breaks up. Simply keep breathing! Allow your body any movement that arises and remember to relax fully when you exhale, softening all your muscles. Continue breathing at your own pace, deeply and fully.

Maintain your own pace and be willing to experiment. Your pace will normally change from day to day and during a session of Full Wave Breathing. Playing music as you breathe helps keep you focused in a gentle rhythm. The Cosmic Waltz, offered by Inspired Living, is the best I know of for this purpose. It focuses on the heart center and expands relaxation throughout the body.
