For Your Health For Your Sanity

Just Breathe! is your monthly consciousness raising and expanding home-study course. Read the entire ezine--best for your enhanced awareness--or select articles that call to you. Just Breathe’s Purpose is:

  • Re-minding ourselves of the omnipresent connection with the Infinite;
  • Promoting cultivation and use of the spiritual power within one’s breath as a natural transformational and empowerment tool for the advancement of humanity beginning with the individual;
  • Sharing uplifting ideas;
  • Keeping our thoughts heading in the direction of our choosing, our emotions open and flowing, and physically feeling fully alive.

WHO?

BY my calculation there are approximately 25 million adult Americans who have reached the stage that I call awake. What I mean by this is people who know they are more than their ego personality identities; that they are spiritual beings on a human adventure.

It is to this group of people that I offer coaching and mentoring services and suggestions, products and promotions, workshops and seminars to enable, facilitate and support their most joyful experience while in a human body. It is also to this group that the Just Breathe! ezine—monthly magazine—was addressed.

Reflections

I have laughed a lot in considering our human condition and writing to you about some of the ways to overcome it. I understood around age 7 that I should be able to figure out this puzzle called life. Scientist that I was, I began to gather data. Spending the next 31 years on that task, I awoke to find myself with a true path of escape from the human conditions briefly summarized as pain, misery and suffering. 31 years of research was not in vain as I followed the path of breath. It wasn’t because it was better than another so much as it was the most efficient way to proceed.

Besides, breathing is something we all do. Creatures do it, the earth and sun breathe as does the entire cosmos. Since we all do it, I thought maybe we could use it as a feature common to all of us. Maybe we could talk about it without the “my sword is sharper than your sword stuff” (My breath is bigger than your breath) and get to living the most loving life we could. I was wrong. There’s a big breath and a small breath and both are offered as a remedy to the same problem. Doesn’t matter what you do in a world where everything works according to your beliefs.

My revelation was that if we could tie positive energy states to the act of breathing in a certain (natural) way, then whenever you wanted to shift states all you had to do was breathe—as directed. Continuing practice would confer benefits with respect to immune and nervous system operation. Full-Wave Breathing stimulates and relaxes through alteration, both the parasympathetic and sympathetic nervous system. The user or practitioner winds up in a state of relaxed, energized awareness. Who could not want that?

So after developing and refining a way for people to “get over themselves,” think their way out their predicament, I ran into a problem. People didn’t know they were in a predicament until their body broke down or they lost something or someone of value. Then they couldn’t quite believe they had any power to do something about it.

They had their “identity stolen.” They had become convinced they had no relationship to disease, germs or other “outside” forces except as victims. They were never taught about the self-healing miracle the human body is. Instead they learned how vulnerable it was under the guise of protecting it. Once the idea of protection was born, most people were swept along in the prevailing wind of consciousness—as instructed by their society. The natural result then was that they wound up holding their breath. And you know what that does to you.

So I’ve discovered that most people require a Self-image remake before setting out on a healing or consciousness expanding path such a Full-Wave Breathing. First comes the knowledge that simply feeling better, feeling more fully alive, is available to most any one. Healing is wholeness, a preexistent, spiritual state. This state is available to Christian, Jew, Muslim, Pantheist, Panentheist or other. It can be re-membered through Full-Wave Breathing.

Letter from the Editor (Writer, Proof Reader and Researcher)

Economic Forecast

The best is yet to come. Yes, even as you have been able to discern from watching television, reading the news or talking to neighbors, the world is financially bankrupt. It seems like the entire population—every government—bet their future on an ever-expanding supply of goods and services—and without regard for the capacity of the earth or its inhabitants to sustain it. Now it is time for things to change. The best is yet to come.

Simply put, there is no real money—material value like in gold or diamonds (which of themselves have only made-up or agreed upon value) behind any of the promises to pay. Everyone has been trading the promises to pay and then, lo and behold, the day of reckoning arrived and that future time TO pay became NOW. Oops.

Of course it has been going on for some time and was expected by the far-seeing. The cure? Cut expenses; increase savings. Translated to the government this likely means, increase taxes; rearrange expenses; print more paper now and pay later, hoping that the flow of currency among nations continues so it can all continue. Yet I am optimistic about the future. How can that be, you might ask.

First, I see people awakening to the reality of global climate change, neighborhood decay, infrastructure collapse and political corruption…and doing something about it. So, while the pulling of the proverbial thorn in the lion’s proverbial paw may create a sensation of sharpness and heat in that paw and result in a loud roar from the lion, it is part of the healing.

People are also “catching on” to alternatives to drugs and surgery. Perhaps it is unfortunate that many are forced to do so because of the economy. Perhaps it is a form of dispensation or grace. In any event, it results in “better” health or at least a trend away from dis-ease. Many changes, much progress and many blessings attend the economic restructuring. Next comes getting through it. Keep your attitude positive by purposefully renewing your breathing daily.

A New New Year

What would happen if you were to do something new this year? What if you would begin your year not with a list of what you want fix (re-solutions, lack, regrets) or intend to get (goals). Instead, consider that for which you are grateful. As you enumerate your blessings and list in your mind (on paper or with the computer) that for which you are grateful, you create an energy dynamic within your mindbodyspirit system.

Doing so creates a beneficial biochemistry, an optimal nervous system., and cellular harmony. Now, allow yourself to feel the feeling you’d have as you embrace the newest goals manifesting in your life.  Feel yourself as if you were ONE WITH THEM.

Performing the exercise in this manner is a method of coming from Love (unity with) instead of Fear (lack, separation from). Notice the difference in the way you feel. Then repeat by feeling gratitude—breathe in it, up and through your mindbodyspirit system.

Once more embrace the feeling of manifesting your goals—being in the car, house, job, state of consciousness—and allow it to unfold. It won’t do so as you might have thought at the time and that’s ok as well.

Repeat this exercise until you feel complete and for as many days in the future as you feel guided. Those with a history of negative or fear-based, lack thinking may wish to continue for a month of more. Others could stop after a week.

Of course, if you find the exercise uplifting and energizing, of benefit in your life, you are permitted to continue with it for as many days and as often throughout the day as you’d like.

At least allow yourself 10- Full-Wave Breaths with the thought of gratitude and the subsequent feeling of goal embracement and realization. Experiment with both open mouth and nostril breathing and see which feels best FOR you.

The Future for Our Children

2009 opens with much hope placed on a new administration and new government policies. Perhaps no place could change benefit that in the rearing and education of our children. Our children are, after all, the hope for the future.

The year past was punctuated with court mandated vaccinations and medical treatments for children and even imprisonment for those who resisted. This sad state of affairs doesn’t even include the growing tendency to pre-medicate children perhaps not to protect them as all parents would desire, but instead to create a new feeder network for medical treatment and legal drug sales.

The attitude of “got a problem, we need a pill,” is growing with school administrators and eventually medication is the only place an answer is sought. The next step is “got a harmful side-effect, here’s a new pill,” If the combination is toxic, a third pill may be offered as a solution.

The real problem is the approach to assisting children to grow and thrive. Toward that end, you can still purchase a copy of Nurturing Your Child’s Gift written by Doctor Caron Goode way back in the 1990’s. The book is still relevant and a highly useful resource for parents. More recently, Caron and I co-authored with Dr. David Russell, the well received book, Help Kids Cope with Stress and Trauma. It tells you what stressors—medical, environmental and lifestyle—do to children, how to minimize and avoid them and, lastly, how to most effectively deal with them.

Lest you think I exaggerate about the problems facing today’s children and their parents, here’s an informative quote from the book Authoritative Communities, The Scientific Case for Nurturing the Whole Child by Dr. Kathleen Kover Kline of the Dartmouth Medical School. The quote appears in the chapter, Investing in Children and Society:

This is America today, stubbornly committed to threats and punishments (and moralistic exhortations regarding family values) as the only methods to bring about changes in problems whose causes are in large part social, economic, and psychological. Although police action and criminal justice are always important, no amount of threats and punishments can reverse the alienation and hostility of those who have paranoid or infantile character structures, who are overwhelmed by feelings of being cheated and deprived, who have no faith in the their ability to nourish or be nourished, and who face every encounter with a lover, child or society itself with the expectation that they will exploit or be exploited.

Exercise for The Soul

Breathing slowly and fully in and out through the nostrils in the Full-Wave pattern, sit in an upright position with the eyes open as you read. As you inhale mentally repeat the words, I AM as you imagine energy rising from the center of the earth and moving up your spine to your heart while SIMULTANEIOUSLY imagining energy descending from the heavens entering your crown and traveling down your spine to the heart. When you are filled with breath and the heart is filled with energy, exhale while mentally repeating the word LOVE and allowing the love to be broadcast from your heart to all planetary life. Repeat in sets of ten breaths throughout the day and continue for a period of 30 days to help make 2009 the best year for you ever. Best results would come from repeating the exercise daily all year long! Happy New You!

Hmmm...

According to the Douglas Report (www.douglasreport.com), in 2007, the Florida Medical Examiners Commission conducted over 168,000 autopsies. The findings? Prescription medication killed 3X as many as the illegal street drugs including heroin, cocaine and methamphetamines.

Economic Forecast-2

For the new year the economic outlook has been cast as gloomy. The media speaks of contraction. I, instead, invite you to expansion. Expand your sense of self to include those around you. Your compassion will grow. Consider too, investing in your Self by spending more time in meditation, breathing sessions and by reading the works of inspiring authors. The return on this investment yields great peace that will keep you anchored in your heart. Others around you will need that as much as do you.

Your inner economy and all that goes to make it up—your attitude, energy and aptitude—require your daily attention if you are to weather the outside economic challenges. Remember the tale of the wise king who, when his trusted advisor, on his deathbed, handed him a note that was to be opened when the kingdom was in turmoil. One day that turmoil arrived and the kind remembered his mentor’s words. Retiring to his chambers, he went to his secret place where he had hidden the note. Opening it, he read: This too shall pass.

It is the nature of all things to expand and contract, thrive and withdraw. The economy will recover; the recession will pass. Keep your eye on your vision and your heart focused on love. Trust life for you will be all right. The world is the perfect teaching platform, leading all where they need to go. Trust your Self as the future unfolds.

Just Breathe! and then do the next thing.

Hypertonia—the Silent Plague

The symptoms are high blood pressure, numbness, dizziness, memory problems, nervous irritability, sexual impotence and constipation.  It arises from your body being unable to deal with the chronic effects of your shallow breathing.

Yep, chronic tension in your breathing, nervous and circulatory systems is at the root of this problem. The remedy? Good old deep breathing.

After working for over 20 years with people suffering from shallow breathing habits, I know that the condition is reversible. When breathing is retrained from stress breathing into vitalizing breathing, the result is often perceived as miraculous. Yet it is simple.

No, it is not enough for you to know ABOUT it. You must practice it to get the benefits.

The “dis-ease” is so pervasive and pernicious that after investing over 20 years in spreading the gospel of Free Healthcare, I still find most people more inclined to sit with their shallow breathing than to actually do something about it.

Exercise is good in that it forces you to breathe deeply. What benefit is there, however, if after your obligatory 15 or 30 minutes you go back to the old pattern and wind up suffocating your system? That’s what hypertonia is, being suffocated in small amounts that over time result in long-term emotional and physical tension and stress.

Breath begins in the deep abdomen—see Step 1 of Full-Wave Breathing. Unless your breath habitually starts there, I can promise you that your health is headed for a down turn. You think today’s economic crisis (energy crisis) is something? Wait (most will) until you have been practicing lousy breathing for 40 or 50 years. Then you will see a real crisis and one that will never, ever be corrected regardless of the drugs that are invented or that you dutifully take as if there were some satisfactory substitute for you becoming engaged in your own well being.

How is your breathing? Here’s a quick way to check it. Take a full breath and as you exhale, hum the letter “U.” If you are unable to continue for 20 seconds, you need to work on your breathing! Forewarned is forearmed. Daily practice is best.

Frustration First-Aid

2009 promises to be filled with challenge and change. Show your friends how to stay centered and immune fortified by teaching them Full-Wave Breathing. It is simple, isn’t it? Better yet, print out the instructions and hand out copies to your family, friends and working relationships.

The first step, where you push you lower abdomen out to a count of three and then release tension to a count of two, is called the Energizer. Show them how to do Step One with increasing speed to recharge, and how to do it slowly to decrease anxiety. It tunes the sympathetic nervous system.

Steps Two and Three connects with the parasympathetic nervous system. The complete exercise is exceptional in that it harmonizes and conditions your entire nervous system.

Your Healthy Heart—6

Looking Backward and Forward with Heart Disease and Stroke

In 1992, issue number 152, was published the following:

“In Framingham, Mass., the more saturated fat one ate, the more cholesterol one ate, the more calories one ate, the lower the person’s serum cholesterol... We found that the people who ate the most cholesterol, ate the most saturated fat, ate the most calories, weighed the least and were the most physically active.”

The study’s results include 30,000+ men and women and was conducted over 40 years. The conclusion was plain then and is still valid today that a low fat diet does not confer protection against heart disease and may even encourage it. So why so is so much made about the matter? The answer is Money. The statin, low fat campaign is yet another way to reach into your pocket by first feeding your brain false information. This month’s section of  Your Health Heart continues, however, to provide you with information to empower rather than rob you. As this is the final issue of the JB ezine, the column will also end. For those who’d like to have the rest of the book, write me and I’ll send it to you by email in return for your agreeing to read and review it for me for the time when it will be published to a larger audience.

Statin Drugs continue to be the most promoted drugs in our history despite their questionable effectiveness that doesn’t quire measure up to that of some of the natural approached. Plus it totally ignores the risks of the drugs themselves. These risks, once called side-effects would be better appreciated perhaps if we termed them direct effects:

From The Edge

In this column I write to the enlightened space within every person and all of my brothers and sisters who share this Earth. My long life has led me to conclude that the place of light, the gift of grace given each, can be cultivated , nurtured into a life of compassionate regard for every form of life. Speaking each month to that space within each reader is intended to “exercise” the knowing self, connect with the awakened self, the Self of all.

My vision would be that by observing and engaging other humans from this space affords the best opportunity for harmonious living. Doing so quiets the mind and permits communication from the heart and mind working together.

Heart communicates inclusion and understanding. Fear is overcome. Continue with your Full Wave Breathing to energetically resolve (recalibrate, reformat) cellular stored trauma and fear.  In other words, get straight with yourself first. Then, consciously connect with the hearts of others, so you can “see” the space of enlightenment within. Read more....

The Ending of Just Breathe!

The year comes to an end and as it does, so issue 48 of the Just Breathe ezine is completed. And JB! Itself also comes to an end. During the 4 years of writing for it, I have observed it change from a newsletter of alternative and holistic health to become a monthly magazine for those interested in consciousness expansion (evolution, upliftment, enhancement, realization and promulgation).

What I am able to observe is that at the level of realization there is nothing to “do” but to be and that for all of the ideas presented for health, wealth and well being, there is little action taken by the general public. Self-care is the only solution to the rising costs of healthcare and the increasing problems of pollution and disease. “Get with it or lose it” is a motto that might profitably precede all future attempts at solving the “crisis” of the healthcares system, the under and the un-insured.

It is up to each individual to learn how to feed and maintain their mindbody system. If your mom didn’t teach you, find out for yourself. There is plenty of information available in our libraries and on the Internet for any who truly seek health or wellness. Meanwhile, back to Just Breathe! and its retirement.

The writing has been a labor of love. I am grateful for the opportunity to have presented ideas for your (our) humor, health and enlightened well being.

As a result of the writing adventure, I now have material for a couple more books that will, perhaps, be presented to the larger publishing marketplace. Plus I could do a blog from the accumulated material that would be never-ending. Maybe one day there will be a course based upon weekly consideration of the ABC’s of Consciousness.  Perhaps it will all be placed in a time capsule to be discovered after the earth’s next upheaval.

Clearly, it has been demonstrated to me, that those who re willing to do the work of self awakening predicated upon the existence of their own divine spark are able to do so. Clearly also has been demonstrated my own unwillingness to play the role of guru or someone somehow supernally gifted or different. I am not, except that I have actually listened, read and followed through on some things I learned to do that opened inner doorways of (energetic) awareness and expanded my reality to include the realms beyond the physical. Now I facilitate others to and through those same doorways.

What shall I tell you of angels, plant devas, consciousness in rocks, plants and animals—or the healing capacity of your own body? To stare at the face of G d can be infinitely fascinating (bliss) yet what occurs in the heart of the people. Most people are simply busy living their material lives and haven’t cultivated an interest in the spiritual—stopping at or turning away from the version presented by religions. Only a small percentage of the world population is yet literate. Most people who do read do so to stay informed regarding consensus reality—traditional thought--religion, medicine, education and government.

30 years ago, I left that consensus reality to dwell in a different realm that, while including those, is not limited to (and to an amazing extent, by) them. Living “from the inside out” has been my teaching curriculum title and has thus far been of consequence and benefit to those who seek assistance in order to enjoy their stay on earth and experience less pain, misery and suffering (PMS syndrome) on the one hand, and greater joy, on the other.

Being in it and not of it, (or being focused in the present moment) is, however, likely to disengage you from the struggles portrayed by the media and result in a dis-interest in the developments of Brittany, Brad or the late Brat Pack. It will be with ease that you bypass People mag as it sits on the table at the dentist office. In is my blessing to have been able to share the methodology with you. Breathing works!

Method, however, implies engaging in an activity. Many are called, few choose to go. I promised a simple formula to readers—do the work, get the benefit. I close this note with the same thought—find out for yourself (your Self) by doing the work. And while I won’t be reminding you monthly with word play, you will continue to have access to the 200+ pages of information and free instruction on the IBI website. (www.internationalbreathinstitute.com).

It has been my joy assisting and supporting your transcending any of the limitations of your physical, emotional and mental adventure—and in assembling the newsletter. I look forward to serving you in the future through telephone consultations, individual sessions, seminars, workshops and books. Be at peace, be in Joy.

Words of the Wise

“If you can do something with the breath, you will suddenly turn to the present. If you can do something with breath, you will attain to the source of life. If you can do something with breath, you can transcend time and space. If you can do something with breath, you will be in the world and also beyond it”—Osho

“Just be present to what is and stop distracting yourself with what you wish. When you are present to reality it will always take care of itself. When you are present to your drama it never resolves.”—Rabbi Rami Shapiro

God within me, God without.
How shall I ever be in doubt?
There is no place where I may go
And not there see God's face, not know
I am God's vision and God's ears.
So through the harvest of my years
I am the Sower and the Sown,
God's self unfolding and God's own.

The Duh Factor

The duh factor—reflections on life in a world where there is no common sense—presents an Obituary received over the Internet:

An Obituary

Printed in the London Times and reported over the Internet.
Today we mourn the passing of a beloved old friend, Common Sense, who
has been with us for many years. No one knows for sure how old he was,
since his birth records were long ago lost in bureaucratic red tape.

He will be remembered as having cultivated such valuable lessons as:
Knowing when to come in out of the rain;  Why the early bird gets the
worm;  Life isn't always fair;  and maybe it was my fault.
Common Sense lived by simple, sound financial policies (don't spend
more than you can earn) and reliable strategies (adults, not children,
 are in charge).

His health began to deteriorate rapidly when well-intentioned but
overbearing regulations were set in place. Reports of a six-year-old
boy charged with sexual harassment for kissing a classmate; teens
suspended from school for using mouthwash after lunch; and a teacher
fired for reprimanding an unruly student, only worsened his condition.

Common Sense lost ground when parents attacked teachers for doing the
job that they themselves had failed to do in disciplining their unruly
 children.

It declined even further when schools were required to get parental
consent to administer sun lotion or an Aspirin to a student; but could
not inform parents when a student became pregnant and wanted to have
an abortion.

Common Sense lost the will to live as churches became businesses; and
criminals received better treatment than their victims.

Common Sense took a beating when you couldn't defend yourself from a
burglar in your own home and the burglar could sue you for assault.

Common Sense finally gave up the will to live, after a woman failed to
realize that a steaming cup of coffee was hot. She spilled a little in
her lap, and was promptly awarded a huge settlement.

Common Sense was preceded in death, by his parents, Truth and Trust,
by his wife, Discretion, by his daughter, Responsibility, and by his
son, Reason.

He is survived by his four stepbrothers: I Know My Rights, I Want It
Now, Someone Else Is To Blame, and I'm A Victim.

Not many attended his funeral because so few realized he was gone. If
you still remember him, pass this on. If not, join the majority and do
nothing.

Training and Training Wheels

What would happen if each morning and afternoon you spent 15 minutes training the dog you adopted? The normal result is that within a couple of weeks, the dog would be submissively responding to your commands. All you have to do is put in the time to discipline the creature.

Think of your ego mind in the same way—a creature needing structure for best results and to keep it from running roughshod in your mental household and in your life. Imagine that you would take 15 minutes each morning and afternoon to train it—with affirmations as you breathe. What do you think would happen?

I suggest that your result is that your mindbody would begin to associate the breathing with the affirmation and the good feelings generated. Over a period of time, maybe as quickly as two weeks, every time you took a conscious breath, from deep within the positive affirmation association would trigger. This would make your breathing and your affirmations more effective, wouldn’t it? As usual, don’t take my word for it. Give it a trial period for a couple of weeks and see what happens—naturally—in your life.

Many people understand the idea that their thoughts are creative. What is difficult is to keep the mind focused on the goal and not on it’s not being currently realized. It requires tremendous mental discipline to focus upon receiving and being grateful for having received/achieved the goal. Fortunately, there is a set of training wheels you can use to train your brain to be aware in the present and not get caught up in regret, worry, and other low-energy, life draining states.

The training wheels are your inhale and exhale. That’s right; you can use your breathing to keep you on track. First you open up the body, restoring circulation and oxygenating cells, tissues and organs. Then you use your breathing to engage your feeling body so you can empower your emotions in behalf of goals.

Now you are ready to train the mind and can more effectively use affirmation and imagery by combining them with your breathing. It sounds simple, and it is.

It is also easy. Follow the steps, gaining energy and confidence as you go, and you’ll reach your destination. It’s an easy 30 days to a new you.

Order Breathe and Grow Rich now and enrich your life step by step in a 30 day program.

Breathe and Grow Rich Reminder—This is the best book you have yet to read.

The Ongoing Process

Breathing is one of the things to be looked after because it is one of the most important things.

If you are not breathing fully, you cannot live fully.  Then almost everywhere you will be withholding something, even in love. In talking even, you will be withholding. You will not communicate completely; something will always remain incomplete.

Once breathing is perfect everything else falls into line. Breathing is life. But people ignore it, they don’t worry about it at all, they don’t pay it any attention.

And every change that is going to happen is going to happen through the change in your breathing.  --Osho

As your Full Wave Breathing practice continues so will the challenges to your expansion arise energetically to reflect in your world. Keep breathing anyway. When as children we shut down or contracted on an issue that arose in our experience, we installed a judgment to keep the constriction in place.

Now, when breathing, that judgment arises in the natural course of cleansing for our review. If we concluded at age 3, that “cats are terrible,” we may have just the passing thought or a more pleasant new encounter presented by the Universe to see if we wish to retain that judgment/opinion and the ensuing contraction of energy.

Instead of cats, the issue could have been one of our innumerable “men are” or “women are” programs buried inside our biocomputer waiting to either be up-dated or re-validated.

As your breathing continues, you will want to go to sleep again and forget it all. Keep breathing anyway. Ah it feel so good to be sedated, unaware, drifting and ig-norant. If ignorance IS bliss, then the folly of being wise is a powerful seduction to resist sentient inquiry or action. Such witticisms are concocted by the ig-norant for they enjoy most their own company.

As your breathing continues, your mind will want to convince you to stop and do something "important." Keep breathing anyway. In a world of crisis, the next crisis calls. Forget about self-caretaking, isn’t the sky about to fall? We learn to live like “Chicken Little” running around and getting caught up in the latest concern and prediction of the sky falling down upon us. It is then only “normal” that we avoid activities of self-renewal. It is also thus normal for people to experience stress-related diseases that eventually overwhelm any healthcare system and any body.

As your breathing continues, you will find yourself more detached from the goings-on in the world. Keep breathing anyway. Tuning out can be as simple as turning off the television and not getting caught up in the drama of a pubescent adult discovering her life, or who the ten hottest move stars are for this year. Taking that time to go within—breathing and meditation—creates a space away from it. Think of your mind as an airport and thoughts as planes. Don’t let thoughts that don’t directly and positively impact your wellbeing land. You are the sovereign of your mind; choose carefully who may cross your borders.

As your breathing continues, you will find your compassion and joy growing. Keep breathing! To me, it is an interesting commentary that positive results promised produce less individual action than avoidance of negative consequence. Perhaps I should have worded this, as your breathing continues, and help prevent death from cancer and surgery. Anyway, keep breathing!—And utilize the IBI Library as a resource and a location of articles on whole-person health and parenting. www.internationalbreathinstitute.com

Take a Breath

Give your mindbodyspirit system a gift of peace for the new you. You are one who recognizes that though you cannot control how others act, you directly contribute to the emotional energy of a situation. Thinking love, radiating peace, you support others and this, in turn, boosts you.

The ABC's of Higher Consciousness

Attitude--Expectant or repellant; positive or negative; open or closed to Life; and embracing as differentiated from resisting; healing or declining; We can get better or get bitter. Make it a nice day!

Breath--Let the exhale demonstrate the complete surrender to God/Universe of all cares and concerns; becoming non-resistant to the tensions of the body, relaxing the cells, molecules and atoms. Consciously directing our breathing throughout your day re-minds us of our spiritual nature, and is a boost to health and energy.

Choice—We either listen to the voice for Love or the voice for Fear, that of ego. One knows that all are innocent; the other blames and sees the guilty. The choice is ours:

  • Tune into the Love channel
  • Access essence
  • Understand
  • Awaken

Determination--Nothing happens without our dedicated effort. Even something as simple as breathing requires our participation. To achieve more in life, there must be more invested. Usually all that is required is the gift of time. Let’s give it to ourselves.

Energy--All is energy vibrating at different rates. Each lives, moves and has its being in this Energy. It is called Soul, Creator/Source, God, Universe, All That Is. IT is bigger than can be imagined.

Focus--What we focus upon grows.

  • Focus upon the joy in life
  • Daily expression of gratitude
  • Moving forward to meet our dreams.

Our deepest dream is of unity, enlightenment, experiencing oneness, realization, actualization, transcendent consciousness--and not of material things. This is why when we get them, achieve, and succeed, we hunger for more. The most helpful dream is to achieve enlightenment. It continues after awakening.

Freedom—In our soul we are free. The challenge is to bring that freedom fully into our life through management of our energy. Our beliefs create our emotions and inform our health. What is required is individual to each of us; yet the path is similar as we ask, what beliefs would be required to produce a life of freedom, grace and ease —and adopt them.

Grace--There is a never-ending flow of grace awaiting our awareness so that: Life is more joyous, and the bumps on the path become less disruptive as we learn/remember/awaken into higher mind, beyond that of egoic consciousness. Full Wave Breathing can make the journey easier than ever before. Think of grace as effortless growth through your connection with joy.

Heaven or Hell—We get to choose which state to engage. If, as the master teachers say, “Heaven is within,” why don’t we going there more often to visit? What would happen if we devoted (consecrated) 100 breaths each day to do so? Who among us dares not find out?

Integrity—Being whole and complete is the essential nature of each individual--the potential seeking expression. What would happen if we each dedicated the next 100 Full Wave Breaths to feeling our wholeness, our integrity?

Joy—The vibration of Joy takes us out of person-ality and is the product of our connection with unity. Becoming a Joy finder in all that you we do,   making it part of our daily and life mission, calls us forward into greater life. The path to Joy is the dedication of life--our life, all life--to the good of all.

Kindness--Considered as one of the seven virtues, opposites of the seven deadly sins, Kindness is being helpful to one in need for the advantage of the person helped. It is treating the other as self, expressing our deeper connection and responding from the heart.  Kindness is caring in action.

Love—The substrate of being, the underlying nature of the unified field, the interconnectedness of all life and the unquestioning regard for all living expression.

Multiplicity—The nature of the One is manifest in multiplicity. Imagine each choice giving rise to an alternate universe—All That Is encompassing every possibility. The mind cannot hold it all or decide amongst the choices. The inner battle is won when the mind defers to the heart’s wisdom.

Natural—It is natural for the body to heal itself when the impediments and blocks to healing are removed. You are already whole and complete as a being. You are naturally your best self. Nothing more is required than to be natural. To become natural usually requires removing the unnatural—the ego thoughts and programs of lack and limitation.

Opportunity—Each moment brings us the choice to serve the ego or the true self. You can usually tell which choice you made by the way you feel. Are you calm and filled with peace? If not, as the Course in Miracles says, choose again. Take a few Full Wave Breaths, affirm that you serve the true self and continue with what you were doing. Doing so is a reminder that you are already whole and complete and, if you were serving the ego, had simply gone temporarily insane. It is no big thing, for with even one conscious breath to power your intention to be your best self, you are back on track and leaving the thoughts of worry and regret or anxiety and tension. Enjoy yourself! (Pump joy INTO your self)

Purpose—What if your purpose in life as a divine being was Joy—its embracement and expression? What if you had been born with a virtually unlimited capacity for joy and your culture had taught you to suppress it? Then all you would have to do to regain or recapture it would be to acknowledge and express it. What if joy were already inside of you, at the core of each cell? Then all you’d need to do to fulfill your purpose would be to relax and allow the joy within to guide your outer activities. How to do this is simple: Just Breathe!...and then do the next thing.

Query—The path is strewn with debris—old ideas handed down without experience. Dogma and unproven belief are potholes and cracks in the pavement to be avoided on our path. Over time they can become sinkholes, swallowing up the spiritual student and denying the light. Find out for yourself. Put teaching and techniques to the test in the laboratory of your own life. Otherwise you cannot know and eventually must be betrayed by the immortalized words of the unknowing who, believing, blundered blindly ahead. Have your beliefs been given you to control, enroll or enslave? Challenge them.

Regeneration—Literally a new birth is given for the asking with each breath. More than the replacement of tissue or the growing of a lost limb, regenerations is a change of heart spoken of in the Bible as a passing from death to life. It occurs naturally when individual life is dedicated to spiritual instead of ego purpose. Spiritual purpose is love and dedication to It’s experience and practice bestows a renewal of the mind or quickening. Breathe the idea of regeneration fully into you body and see how it feels to you. Let your experience in “putting on” this idea be your guide as to its value in your life. Repeat often.

Spirit—is all That Is. Manifesting as Life, Spirit informs us. Contacting and living from the inner spirit was once the responsibility of every member of every tribe and contributed to the whole. It was also the only way to stay alive. Later the connection to and study of spirit was accorded to those who led cloistered lives, the sainted figures in history and those who received initiation. Now it is open to all who choose to follow such a pursuit, bestowing peace, love and joy for its practitioners. Breathe with the idea of remembering your connection with Spirit and test its benefit in the laboratory of your own life.

Trust—the Life that you are. The Universe is a complex unfolding too profound to understand with the linear mind. Yet each person has an inner connection that provides information about safety. The spirit that lives within and manifests as all things around you leads life through you. Since the Universe is too large to worry about, what’s a person to do? Feel your way through it by keeping your breathing open. When you feel tightness or a constriction in your breath it’s a signal that you are TEMPORARILY out of balance. Breathe, rebalance and ask within regarding the situation you find yourself in.

Unique—each one of us.  There has never been another you or me. It all the Universe and all the dimensions known and as yet unknown, we are the only one with the specific embodied characteristic. We all are alike in this regard. Though our physical expressions as tall or short, dull or bright;  each is unlike any other and a required part of the whole. Spirit manifests through us as an artist expressing in form. Surely, in all of creation that is another you or me that is and inch shorter or taller; and otherwise the same—along with all possible variations. Yet this one of you or me is unique. It could not be otherwise. Yet we learn to desire to be like others. It drives some of us crazy; others of us sane. Which are you?

Valid—each one of us. Since there has never been another you, you are the only one qualified to be the authority in your life. It is your experience and it is valid—for you. Subjective reality is often dismissed; yet who can say what is real or of value for you the individual? It is only you. The holiday session is a reminder to let the light that you are shine brightly as a valid and valued aspect of the whole.

Wonder—Allow yourself to be filled with admiration, amazement and awe and the marvel of earthly life. Explore and investigate it; embrace and accept it; contemplate and consider it; for surely then you will discover Love.

Just Breathe! is from Dr. Tom Goode, sharing ways to stay awake in the dream and keeping:

  • Thoughts heading in the chosen direction
  • Emotions open and flowing—
  • Feeling fully alive.

Just Breathe! provides ideas, tips and suggestions for attaining optimal health and wellness through lifestyle management--learning to live in harmony and alignment with our holistic nature…and a sometimes humorous look at life on Planet Earth. Just Breathe! is both a magazine of higher consciousness and a home-study course.

Who It Is For

JB! readers are typically those who know of their make-up as body, mind and spirit. They are referred to as the awakening or awake as contrasted with being asleep to or oblivious of one’s spiritual nature. Just Breathe! is for people consciously embracing their spiritual path.

As a whole (holistic, holy) being each of us is comprised of physical, emotional, mental and spiritual aspects coordinated within one unitary expression. The four aspects of the mindbodysoul system are examined and described separately for clarification.

From an energetic perspective, each of us is are already whole and complete, expressing our true nature at our individual level of evolution of consciousness. Modern science and ancient wisdom confirm our divinity, the existence of the soul and life that continues beyond physical death.

Render Greater Service

The implications of human nature as consciousness with a “soul” are profound. Scientific revelations validate both ancient and more modern spiritual knowledge. Taking action to be one’s “best” or higher, more enlightened self is generally conceded to be the greatest service or gift to others any one person can make.

If there were nothing to fix, and only to realize (make real) one’s true nature, a good first step would be to make real that feeling (of wholeness and completion) in the body by anchoring it with Full Wave Breathing. All that is required is to put Full Wave Breathing to work. Repeated over time, the seemingly miraculous occurs.

Content

The Just Breathe! ezine expresses a view of the mindbodysoul aspects of holistic health. It is a monthly newsletter for the awakened and awakening--who know themselves to be multidimensional (energetic, divine sparks) beings with physical, emotional, mental and spiritual aspects. It is for those who practice their spiritual purpose by living lives of greater enlightenment and service through the pathways of Love, Joy and Peace.

The Soul

This ezine is for those whose interest is in their consciousness (increasing conscious awareness) as a spiritual being. Just Breathe! is a community (common unity) connection for awakening and awakened beings, integrating the wonders of Life. Just Breathe! shares a perspective, an alternative (holistic) view of human existence, intended to expand the mind's understanding. The mind then relaxes so the ego “watch dog” role that produces anxiety and tension can be set aside. Head and heart function together to respond to life’s circumstances, operating from "higher" consciousness or being in the flow of life.

The general idea is that the more whole one’s life, then the greater is the access to health and happiness. Researcher Dr. David Hawkins points out that to increase awareness even a little is significant because growth is logarithmic rather than linear.

Healing

Having awakened to, become cognizant of, the process of awakening, the usual next step is to heal the physical level. Otherwise energy that could be utilized at another level of being is expended on maintenance of the body.

Healing may or may not involve a “cure” for any condition. The healing step enables the individuated soul to more freely express creativity and joy. Each “healee” then becomes the source-connection of transformation for others. The lower body, housing the gut brain, is harmonized with the head/heart, operating as one. The vibratory effect upon others is harmonious, uplifting and, in-turn, transformative. One-by-one, each part of the whole—represented by the individual-- sounds his note until music abounds.

Context

Full Wave Breathing, among a host of alternatives, is the single, most important exercise for our life and whole health. Those who use it regularly feel better and more alive.

Think About It: Each of us is a cell in the body of humanity, totally unique--just like everyone else. Each is tasked with job of expressing their potential. An awesome task, it is impossible unless you breathe well.

Work Task

My chosen job is to train joy generators, individuals who seek to be avenues of healing and upliftment to the world around them. The by- product of being a joy generator is that you live in the flow of life, balanced and harmonious in your world. Isn’t it really your mission to pursue joy—the soul connection with life? Once you get the joy part, you then have a new mission to spread the joy. Joy generators are much needed. Today.

Oh, by the way, joy comes from living in the now, neither pulled into the past by guilt and regret nor thrust into the consideration of the future in worry and anxiety. There are 3 Steps to Joy

Three Steps to Joy

  1. Open Your Breathing with Full Wave Breathing
  2. Become Aware of Your Breathing Throughout the Day
  3. Just Breathe and then do the next thing

Focusing in the present using the breath is an easy way to be constantly re-minded of our nature as spiritual beings. Observe your cat or dog as breathing takes place. The inhale and exhale are connected—just like in your Full Wave Breathing exercise. Notice how you breathe today. And exercise your breathing at least once daily for as little as a month and see if it doesn’t help:

    • The way you feel in general
    • The way you feel about things
    • The way things feel to you.

In The Coming Months You are Invited to Join Us through books, cd’s, podcasts, and periodic announcements. Be well!

Remedy to Spiritual Bypass—the body; go back to basics; breathing is basic.

The Best Deal in the World—Freedom from Respiratory Stress—The Price—Full Wave Breathing. It is a free service you provide for your Self.

Realization

What is personal realization? I use this term instead “enlightenment” to describe what happens when you realize you are part of the One—actually the One—looking out from the personal identity eyes. The task, after having such an awakening, epiphany or illumination, is to live from that glimpse of conscious awareness full time or to “make real” the awareness.

People who take our workshops often report such awakening or enlightening experiences. Then, as is inevitable since we are in bodies for a purpose, the euphoria passes and we are once again confronted with our daily lives. The stressors have not disappeared. Hopefully, however, the insights gained in such moments enable us to embrace life with more love and less reaction.

Yeah, don’t we wish! Too often, the weekend ends, and tomorrow is rush hour again, tugs on mommy’s skirt and the pressures of hunting down the next meal. How is a person supposed to deal? As you have learned, there is no “supposed to.” Each one of us is already well-equipped to deal with our lives. The solution, as you continue to be reminded, is simple: Just Breathe! and then do the next thing.

So I am hoping you’ll continue to be a member of the IBI (say those three letters aloud 3 time and see how it feels) community. If you like, I won’t refer to you as a heavy breather. Besides I’d rather know you as a conscious soul.

My job? (Acronym for Joy Of Being) My job is to tune into what is needed in the readership group and write about effectively handling the challenges presented by living in a body in these increasingly challenging times.

For those who have journeyed with me this far in the ezine, there is a special announcement. A new workshop is set for those who wish to fly highest and fastest in their spiritual exploration and journey. It requires that you have reached a certain level of what is termed “spiritual growth” before participation would be appropriate for you. I promise, however, for those who do attend, truly amazing results. Special Announcement.

What’s Ahead For You?

Training the Brain—Isn’t it Time?

Some of the information in the ezine is repeated so it becomes ingrained in your consciousness. Simply reading the material is of benefit. Each month the words change slightly, the concepts becoming more refined and defined. Look for the changes, the shifts in emphasis and expansion of ideas in each new issue. Those who skip sections are missing information that could be important in creating and expanding their joyful existence.

The usual human tendency is to have to hear or read things many times before acceptance sinks in. This very normal process occurs when an idea is first introduced. Repeated exposure then brings us to acceptance, and finally adoption of an idea. Then changes occur automatically as if by some magical process. It is a magical process in that science cannot yet explain how, as our attitude shifts, the cells respond as if they were conscious. If they act as if they are conscious, what does that tell us about their nature?

Note: See Advanced Full Wave Breathing at the end of the exercise instruction.

A Simple Message That Bears Repeating

Use Full Wave Breathing to effectively manage 85% of your biochemistry and boost your mindbodysoul system's natural healing ability. How important is this in your life? How great do you want to feel? What would happen if you tithed 10% of your time to your spiritual unfoldment? What kind of result do you imagine would occur? 2.4 hours per day x 6 days would give you the equivalent of a day and a half of normal “work” time devoted just to you. What kind of results would you expect? Those who practice Full Wave Breathing daily report incredible results. Start where you are and build progressively—like any other kind of exercise.

Detailed instruction, exercise and testimonials are in the new book now available to Just Breathe! readers. Breathe and Grow Rich leads you to the missing link to manifestation. If there were only one book you’d read this year, this is the one I’d recommend for you.

Sickcare—The System

If you don't take care of your own health you become a participant in what is known as Healthcare, Sickcare a system based upon the study of sick people and focusing on how to "fix" them. It addresses symptoms rather than causes and treats disease as an enemy to be eradicated. Imagine instead that you observed healthy people and adopted their practices. What might then be the result and the state of your health?

It is not that you ignore pain. Do get out of pain first. If you have a condition, take care of it. Get the help you need. And do ask inside. Pose your question about your condition is your mind: Mindbody, what do I need to do about _______? Then Full Wave Breathe for 15 minutes and note your insights and answers. It usually doesn’t even take that long before you get an answer and achieve understanding of what steps to take.

Self-Responsible LoveCare™

How would you treat illness if it was not your enemy, and was instead only a message concerning stressors in your mind and body? Most likely you would cooperate with the body using principles based upon natural health. The first place to begin is with the basic foundation of life, your breathing.

Our mind and body work well until overloaded with stressors accumulating in cells and tissues. Chronic stress then makes us become a shallow breather, wearing down the immune system. Blood becomes toxic, and lacking oxygen and energy, the body is unable to defend itself against either internal or environmental stressors. The result is discomfort, disease, disability and premature death. Fortunately, for the wise, there is an alternative!

Each of us can practice protective and preventative, remedial and restorative self-care by doing the things we already know to do to support autoimmune health: Update beliefs, eliminate toxins in food and water, manage toxic emotions, avoid toxic noise and breathe!

Holistic Practices

  • The foundation of all holistic health practices is deeper, more effective breathing that benefits respiration, circulation, vitality, digestion, assimilation, and more.
  • Breathing affects the entire system.
  • Master breathing and we master the ability to stimulate healing resources.
  • Direct the power of the mind using breathing.

Use Full Wave Breathing to simultaneously stimulate and relax the mindbody system Become aware of the body breathing, allowing thoughts to pass and enter a meditative state of calm alertness.

Q & A

What does personality learn during this time of soul emergence?

1.         Surrender

2.         Detachment

3.         Accommodation

4.         Acknowledgement

5.         Acceptance

Surrender:

  • To be willing to follow where soul leads;
  • That our desire to grow is greater than our fear of moving forward;
  • That we are willing to listen more to our intuition and to heart than to let self be confused by the mind’s opinions, judgments, prejudices.

This is not to say that we disregard mind completely. For in order to achieve stability, common sense in the third dimension world is just as important to making things happen as is the flow of our intuitive perception. To surrender means that we cease to fight the current, ending struggle, anxiety, and confusion.

Detachment

  • To release personality preferences
  • That our joy is more important than being right
  • That we can still be engaged

Detachment is the opposite of not caring. It is because we do care—about our well being and peace of mind—that we keep an open mind, remembering that things DO work out for our best interest in the long run. Similar to surrender, detachment means we are responsible and active—and do not worry about the past or future.

Accommodation

  • To allow others their reality
  • To adapt to change
  • To engage with understanding

Accommodation is also used to imply the implementation of a new purpose or strategy—such a living for a soul rather than an ego perspective.

Acknowledgement

  • To admit the truth
  • To surrender to one’s spiritual nature
  • To live life based upon one spirit

Acceptance

  • To believe that all comes from God for our benefit
  • Living in a safe world
  • Allowing others to be whomever they need to be

Steps to Being In the Flow

1. Belly Breathing

2. Crown Focus

3. Love Feeling

Myth—the Self must die and be reborn.

Inside Stuff

Imagine that you had a subconscious mind filled with fear-based survival programs and defense mechanisms. They came from your ancestors and culture and are viruses that, unless dealt with, grow to take over the human bio-computer. Disarming them is the first step. Restoring the system, the second; and upgrading is the third. To clean the hard-drive involves the activity of breathing to detoxify. While this process is taking effect, the mind is quieted providing a valuable active form of meditation. Intellect and feelings work together in one system.

The decision to live a mediocre life is usually a result of default programming. We sort of wind up with our health and our life. To change our software involves the conscious effort to think thoughts that produce harmonious mind body states.

Old Words of the Wise

All Is Energy

Since all is energy and each individual is connected to the whole, then each person has the power to direct their energy. We can alter our biochemistry to a life supporting instead of debilitating state whenever ego mind begins to demand attention.

We can shift our biochemical state to a supportive one whenever you become aware of feeling constricted, closed or negative simply by breathing 5 Full Wave Breaths. Throughout our day, Let’s Take 5 and see if it doesn’t help.

Who Am I?

We are each spirit experiencing the apparent evolution of human consciousness. Every day is a step along our spiritual path that leads to the Self. Transformation is also available for the more daring.

The Final Word

Are we practicing Full Wave Breathing because it is good for us--or because it is a way of being good to self? Which do you think produces the best result?

Why engage Tom Goode as a consciousness coach?

Passion and Purpose—I perform this work because I love it. I have dedicated my life to helping people transform their lives, rising above their perceived limitations and living a life of love, purpose and joy. Review my credentials, read my biography; call and talk with me. There is no charge for the first ½ hour and…

I’ll assist you in engaging in disciplined self-reflections, finding the answers within and in better understanding your place in the cosmos. My cause is your conscious enbrightenment.

(I now have openings for 4 new students at truly amazing discounted prices to appeal to the ego mind with incredible bonus benefits too numerous to burden that mind with--since you will eventually stop using it as the primary source of decision making, preferring instead the result that flows when you make decisions of the heart—from your love-centeredness. So ask your heart now if individual “work” with me as your spiritual mentor and guide would be to the greatest benefit you have ever known; then get about creating that relationship by calling and speaking with me as if I were an elder brother, granduncle reflection, here to facilitate your greater joy and ease on the journey called you. We’ll work out the details later.)

And, by the way, I hide this announcement down here so I reach only those with a true interest in the process. It is my privilege to express my service as messenger of your Self for your most exceptional awakening experiences.

Keep breathing!

EXERCISE CORNER:

Full Wave Breathing is a natural, drug-free, and dramatically effective way to experience health, joy and aliveness that mobilizes and supports your progression toward balance and wholeness. It is a method which accelerates and complements modern healthcare and treatment practices. Use it to inspire yourself so you can inspire others!

The Single Most Important Exercise is Full Wave Breathing

There are 3 Steps, simple as A B C: Abdomen, Belly, and Chest. First, breathe into the lower abdomen and keep your focus there until you can comfortably fill and relax that area of the body. Use your muscles to expand your lower abdomen, beginning at the top or your pubic bone.

Second, after filling the abdomen (A) shift your focus to your entire belly (B) or midsection, stretching and distending your diaphragm and ribs as you inhale. Relax everything as you exhale. Use your muscles to push out the lower abdomen, then expand the area just above.

Third, filling A & B, shift your focus to your chest (C) and above. Having expanded the lower portions of the body, stretch up into the chest and back. Make all of your physical movements gentle and slow. All the movement to become very subtle and gentle as you alternately inhale and exhale without pause.

You may find it more comfortable to begin with distinct movements of your body. Allow the process to become like a dance of movement from bottom to top, top to bottom. Later, allow your body to remain completely relaxed as you visualize the movement of energy through you.

Repeat often for the most dramatic results. For more detailed instruction, read below:

Step One of Full Wave Breathing

Place one hand on the abdomen below the navel and the other on the chest. As you inhale, hold the chest still; allowing the abdomen to expand as if you is filling a balloon. Stretch and extend the lower belly. Relax completely into an inhale at the point where the abdomen is distended fully and the lungs are filled. After exhaling, inhale immediately. The chest does not move at all.

Continue breathing with no pause between inhales and exhale. All of the emphasis is upon your inhale. The exhale is a release of the tension created during your inhale. So you will Inhale and relax...inhale...and relax. Continue as you read this instruction to see how simple it is to perform. Breathe through your nose or mouth as you desire. You increase oxygenation by over 50% when you breathe through your mouth because of the normal restriction in nostril breathing.

Close your eyes as you are breathing and then relax for a few minutes when you are done. Allow your breathing to normalize before continuing with your activities. You may perform this exercise while sitting at the computer, riding in the car, or even watching television. Start practicing this exercise today and you'll be pleased with your result!

To help you stay focused on your breathing, place a book or weighted bag on your lower abdomen when lying down and performing the exercise. If you are sitting, to keep your spine erect, imagine that a rope is attached to the middle of your head. The rope rises into the air. In your imagination, allow the rope to gently lift you up until your spine is erect. Sit straight, be open, and breathe.

Step Two of Full Wave Breathing

Continue breathing with no pause between inhales and exhale. Inhale and Relax...Inhale...and Relax.

Count 1 as you inhale and expand your lower abdomen in Step One. Count 2 as you lengthen your inhale and push out the middle of your torso at the solar plexus. Release tension and allow the body to exhale and repeat. Perform this exercise anytime to relax. Do not perform connected breathing when driving or operating machinery.

When lying down, place a pillow under your knees, not under your neck. When sitting, allow yourself to stretch and open your spine as you sit and breathe.

Close your eyes as you breathe and then relax for a few minutes when you are done. Allow your breathing to normalize and return to your tasks.

Step Three of Full Wave Breathing

Continue breathing with no pause between inhales and exhales. Inhale and relax...Inhale...and relax.

Count 1 as you inhale and push out your lower abdomen. Count 2 as you raise the breath and energetic focus to your solar plexus. Count 3 as you move your breath and muscular focus up into your chest, stretching your intercostal muscles, shoulders and back of the neck. Relax completely when you exhale, allowing the muscles to soften. There is no effort or tension involved in your exhale.

Close your eyes as you breathe and then relax for a few minutes when you are done. Allow your breathing to normalize before continuing with your activities. Perform this exercise anytime you are sitting passively to provide a quick and effective energy boost and relaxation.

Keep your spine straight if sitting and allow to your body to move as you breathe and relax. Feel the wave of inhale as air enters your body and the wave of exhale as it leaves. Increase the volume of air and pace of breathing and feel how it affects your experience.

Since resolving stress at the cellular level is below our awareness, there are times when the breathing is accompanied by laughing or crying as old chemistry breaks up. Simply keep breathing! Allow your body any movement that arises and remember to relax fully when you exhale, softening all your muscles. Continue breathing at your own pace, deeply and fully.

Maintain your own pace and be willing to experiment. Your pace will normally change from day to day and during a session of Full Wave Breathing. Playing music as you breathe helps keep you focused in a gentle rhythm. The Cosmic Waltz, offered by Inspired Living, is the best I know of for this purpose. It focuses on the heart center and expands relaxation throughout the body.

Advanced Full Wave Breathing uses imagery and your kinesthetic sense to enhance your experience as you breathe.

Imagine that you are lying on a beach with the warm sun high overhead and slightly behind you. The tide is coming in and as you inhale, imagine the water following the path of your breathing from your feet to above your head. Each incoming wave brings with it new energy.

As you exhale, allow the water to return to the ocean carrying with it unneeded tension. Allow all of the muscles in your body to become soft as the imagined water leave your body along with the synchronous exhale of your breath. Each exhale returns your energy to the sea of life dissolving what no longer serves you.
