Just Breathe! ...and then do the next thing. Important Notice From The Editor: I repeat myself so that the information I provide is ingrained into your consciousness. If you were to get just the breathing part you would be able to effectively manage 85% of your biochemistry and boost your mindbody systems natural healing ability. So at the risk of boring you with the same vital information, I do repeat myself. I do this not just for first-time readers; instead I do it for everyone. If you were to “get” the value of breathing and actually employ its use as an exercise, you’d be well on your way to avoiding disease and enjoying life more fully. However, we usually have to hear or read things many times before acceptance sinks in. The normal process when an idea is introduced is to discount it. Repeated exposure brings us to acceptance, and, finally adoption of the idea. My hope for you is that you will adopt the information I present to you, test it and make it part of your improved life. Then you become a shallow breather, creating chronic tension that wears down your immune system. Practice Full Wave Breathing for 30 days, and you will see your life improve. A Look Behind the Curtain and What’s Really Happening The most significant cause of disease is still stress. Stressors that impact life come from the environment—electromagnetic, air, water and food; emotions and thoughts. The single easiest way to deal with your stress, expand your capacity for it and restore your mental calm is through Full Wave Breathing. So I have emphasized it as important to achieving your goal of health. It is actually vital and I am not going to keep beating the drum through the monthly imploring of readers to find out for themselves. That is because there is more than just your breathing to focus upon. At this stage, if you have been reading for more than an issue or two, you already know my opinion is that Full Wave Breathing is the single, most important exercise for your life. I have asked you to stop doing those things that kill you and employ the use of those things that boost your health. For the most part, you already know what they are and in which category to place most of your activities. Other Options The formula on the physical plane is simple, stop killing yourself and start living responsibly. The last two years of Just Breathe! have been intended to empower you to do just that. Now we go beyond where we have thus far ventured. The ezine now speaks about the mindbodysoul system instead of the mindbody system. The reader is addressed as spirit with a mindbodysoul system. The previous perspective shared was that of soul, incarnated into a mindbody system. This represents quite a shift in view and in the information coming to you each month. Some readers may drop away; preferring the older format that included which pills, potions, prescriptions, vitamins, minerals, foods, nostrums, herbs, tonics, teas, and folk remedies to incorporate into their daily do’s and diets. Now I ask you, what if that didn’t really matter? What if the healthiest were undeniably the most conscious individuals? (They are!) What if it were that simple? (It is!) Those with disabilities can improve their health. Those who need to make changes can do so to reverse disease progression. Those who are normal can become well. Those who are well can choose to expand their well-being throughout their lives. Are You Awake? Here’s an example of what happens if you simply learn about what to do. Next there is putting your information and knowledge into practice. That action may be another, more difficult matter for you and you find yourself, addicted by habit, unable to make desired changes. Until you reach a certain level of maturity and awareness, the value of doing certain things simply escapes you; the ability to put into practice what is learned is absent. You can even know about the purported value of Vitamin C and never translate that knowing into the action of consumption. So my focus is on empowering the action of change through conscious elevation of the consciousness of my readers. Education empowers you. Currently I write books providing instruction on being healthy in all ways. Even after reading them, many are unable to put their new education as to what is of benefit into action or for any sustained period of time. Since I currently write more books than the average American reads in a year (1), clearly the average individual doesn’t read my books, subscribe to the ezine or app. So clearly my works are not intended for the average reader. You are not the average reader and next year you will also have e-book access to those things Caron or I write. Our audience is people simply looking for ways to live a better life—body, mind and spirit. That intention on your part attracts what you require to achieve those goals. Caron and my intent is to support you in what will unfold as a new phase in your life, a greater awakening and awareness of your nature as a spiritual being. We provide tools to awaken the mind and heart. All wisdom is already inside of you. There are highly effective techniques available to you so you can now train your brain to think what serves you best. Motivation—an outside force--doesn’t last. Personal will power is insufficient. It is necessary instead to draw upon your soul. Difficult to do? No! Just Breathe! The results, according to those who report upon their process, are that you enliven your journey, ease your way and regain a sense of connection and life purpose. Things to Come The ongoing emphasis of Just Breathe! will be on changing your mind/beliefs and altering your reality/health. Investigation of aboriginal cultures shows that alternative sets of realities are present and operating in ways foreign to our Western cultural view. Substances that are medical in one society are deadly poisons in another. Increasingly science is determining, as stated in the Bible, “As ye believe, so ye receive.” It is said that the aboriginal inhabitants of the new world we unable to see the ships of Christopher Columbus because they had no concept of a sailing vessel. There are those who cannot see the value of nutrition or the use of herbs in the scheme of health because their beliefs only embrace the efficacy of pharmaceuticals. There are also those who look to nutritional and herbal solutions in a similar allopathic manner, concerned only with symptomatic relief and not with underlying cause. What is Going On? What if the body’s aging process toward decline and death we just a belief? What if the one’s mental software could be upgraded to that of races of humans that once lived over 500 years? What if the fears instilled upon a populous regarding contamination from human and other life-forms were optional? A belief, like the software in a computer, runs the mental program. The majority of people have been programmed by others to produce a continuation of a system of life based upon separation and fear. What would happen if those programs were changed? Reality Check
Most people are not taught to love themselves. Yet millions of Americans are combining their holistic and alternative methods with conventional therapies in the hopes of improving their odds of survival. Under this methodology, one struggles with an uphill battle, changing lifestyles and encountering new disease threats. Yet, because they love themselves not, the message sent to the body is “die.” People don’t like the way they look, walk, talk, sound and thus send the message to their subconscious of not being enough. The Creation Process Words to Ponder I’d like to invite you to do one thing with me for the next ten days that will restore your health on all levels of your mindbodysoul system. What I get out of it is a few minutes of your time, maybe your feedback for yet another book, and you get yourself back. I’m inviting you to reclaim your sense of empowered living. Let it take care of the stress automatically. Take This Test Many opt for resolutions at this time of year, vowing to lost weight, eliminate harmful consumption habits or to make life simpler. Most resolutions are forgotten by the end of the first month. So rather than your vowing once more to do these things, I have a suggestion for you. It is time now to have another resolution. New You Resolve Imagine if you were to set another resolution—just one this time—that you did carry through on. The secret to success is to do it in a way that your body likes. If so you have a much better chance of achieving the goal implicit in your resolve. The word resolve is useful to us because in it is the key to your becoming more like the person you want to be that ever before. Re—means do again; Solve—means to unpuzzle, obtain a solution to a perceived problem. Most resolutions involve health—physical, economic, relationships. You may have been trying to do too much, had too many targets to aim at and, so, hit none of them. OK, the way you have been attempting to solve the perceived problems of your health—whichever its domain-- has not been working as well as you would like it to. The Plan That Didn't Work If you still feel threatened by stress overload resulting in colds, flu, headache, fatigue, irascibility, and psychic overload from the activities of the world around you, you need another way to deal with your challenges. You need a way that works. I am going to give you a way that now works. My job—acronym for Joy Of Being—is to be a teacher of Self. This has made me a researcher and reporter in the fields of science and consciousness, psycho neurobiology, psychoneuroimmunolgy. I found out how the mindbodysoul system works naturally to self-repair and thrive naturally and then distilled vast input into fast-acting, long-lasting direct methods for you to use. I have shared these methods with you in my books thus far and in my upcoming book on heart health, The Love Prescription. And there is more. The knowledge and info I share with you is the truth as I understand it, describing how to improve life by utilizing a conscious connection with Life. This next step I am asking you to take is a simple one. It has to do with making another resolution. You get to re-solve the mystery of health by taking a forward step in the direction of wellness and away from illness. I’d like to you make a New You resolution to remember your wholeness. To do that now, mentally repeat the word, “Love” each time as you take 3 Full Wave Breaths. Another Look at the Same Thing You don’t have to define it now, simply focus on the word as you inhale fully and repeat the process without pause. The meaning is already inside you. Next, notice how your body feels. Then think about what it means. Remembering love in your personal life could mean decreasing your food intake, getting the exercise you need or eliminating harmful habits. It could also mean your remembering feelings of love and oneness when in nature—at the beach, looking at a sunset or walking in nature. Maybe you associate the feeling with your children or other loved ones. Whatever the association is perfect for you. Whatever it does mean to and for you, good things are happening inside. You are pumping your self full of life enhancing energy that will positively alter your biochemistry expelling toxins and relaxing cell states. Maybe this is your chance to learn something in only a few minutes that will assist you regardless of what you do in life. Let’s focus first on your health. Are you willing to give yourself the time you need to assume responsibility for your health? What am I asking of you? Not much really. Follow along with me. If you get impatient, simply take another 3 breaths using what I call Full Wave Breathing as described above. On the topic of responsibility, as I say in the new total health book---Fully Alive! A Holistic Guide to Livelier Living—if it is to be, it is up to thee. If you are going to have health there is something you need to do to make it happen. You have to make a choice. I’ve been there, from sickness and disease, from illness and accident and back. Now I am back to wellness. Choose wellness. Likely you had health at some point in your life before stress stacked up and wore you down. Now you can get it back by remembering your wholeness. Wholeness has to do with your natural state. You remember you are one being comprised of four parts usually separated for understanding and examination: Physical, Emotional Mental and Spiritual. You begin achieving balance among these “parts” by remembering your wholeness. You then naturally start taking better care of yourself. It really is a painless process. Being in the Flow If all of this sounds like it would both require and produce change and your body naturally resists it, how about considering it just on a trial basis? I’m inviting you to take a 10-day test to see what might occur with your health if you follow-thru in remembering your wholeness. Even if you don’t finish the ten days you’ll be learning how you can easily transform your energy to states that support your health and wellbeing. If you do choose to follow through, good things await you. Think of all of your supplements as fuel for your body, symbolic forms of concentrated love. Now ignite the fire to use that energy to an optimal extent with this Fully Alive! ten-day test. You already know many of the benefits that might take place in your life if you joined in this experiment in feeling better. Those benefits are the upside of the project. What about the downside? WARNING: IF YOU UNDERTAKE THIS EXPERIMENT IN WHOLENESS, YOUR LIFE WILL EXPAND AND CHANGE AND YOU MAY BECOME addicted to feeling good. Please consider that when you become joy motivated (inspired) instead of fear or pain motivated, your direction in life will change. You will no longer be externally motivated. Instead you will be more in touch with your intuitive inner voice and feeling like you are in the flow of life instead of swimming upstream. You will begin to see things and do things as a mindbodysoul system instead of as a mindbody system. WARNING DO NOT EXCEED TEN MINUTES. While you are invited to sit and relax after completing your ten minutes of Full Wave Breathing, it is recommended that you not continue beyond this period of time for these first ten days. To breathe for this period is an exercise and you need to begin slowly. Even if you are healthy, focus on the exercise for 3 three-breath intervals during the first three days. Do as many sets as you desire, resting after each third breath before returning to next set. Build from the first three days by connecting 10 breaths at a time, then resting before resuming. Your next step is to continue beyond ten and work your way up to 100 at your own pace. Most people have short attention spans. Condemn them not—and see if you can hold your focus in counting to 100 breaths! It is important that you take it easy. The optimal length of a breath has been measured to be about 10 seconds—6 breaths a minute. Full Wave Breathing faster than that will energize your mindbody; slower will calm it and lower blood pressure. When you reach the end of your ten days, you’ll be feeling more relaxed and energetic. And don’t take my word for it. Please try it for yourself and let me know of your experience. Make your goal is to become Fully Alive, supercharged with energy directed toward feeling better. If you apply this exercise for too long, however, you may over-stimulate your elimination system and trigger a toxic dumping. Symptoms mimicking colds may arise as your body cleans out. To keep this from happening in the initial stages, I am going to have you breathing in and out through your nose. After your first ten day, use the Full Wave Breathing instruction that tells you how to supercharge your breathing with an open mouth. Not Yet! Even if you are already healthy, repeating the process every day or throughout the day is more effective than overdoing it in one sitting. You can increase the time intuitively after the first ten days. Then your session may be longer or shorter depending upon the circumstances. For the purpose of this ten-day test, please limit yourself to sessions not longer than ten minutes. It may seem easy, just sitting and breathing. Believe me when I tell you it is a powerful exercise. As such you may feel the effects of stretching and exercising, providing yourself with an internal massage in the muscles and connective tissue. This is a natural result of stimulating your self-healing resources through the breathing process. I recommend you drink a glass of pure water after each session to support your mindbody system. Let us return for a moment to the theme of Love and its effect in your life. Our initial focus is taking one physical action with Full Wave Breathing (body) and focusing on Love (mind). This powerful mindbody exercise is a no-cost way to remember your wholeness by giving yourself Love. Doing what is loving for your could also mean doing almost anything that nurtures you and, thereby, your world and the people in it. In short it implies that you cease to do those things that make you sick or weaken you and habitually doing those things that make you well and strengthen you. We all know the connection to being tense and not breathing fully. We exhaust ourselves with our poor breathing and experience a poverty of energy. Our bodies slow and stiffen. To reverse the decline is as simple as changing how we breathe. It is not usually easy. Ten Minutes To Transformation What you were never told is the reason why they failed. It is because it is an inside job. Only you through your intention and action can cause it to happen. What I want you to find out is that you can do it and it is easier than you have ever imagined, much less been told. All it takes is a little time. People talk about tithing to their spiritual support; yet, forget to give themselves time to breathe, meditate, exercise and renew themselves. If you gave yourself 10% of your time, that would be 2.4 hours daily, wouldn’t it? Relax, I’m not asking for that. All I want you to do is give yourself ten minutes as you consciously remember your Self. Take another 3 Full Wave Breaths now, pausing as you read to mentally repeat “Love.” If life has you “strung out” and feeling disconnected, this is a perfect way to re-member your wholeness and put the fractured parts together. By the way, that’s why I have you breathe through the mouth—because it bypasses brain hemisphere domination, going to higher mind—so you feel the connection once again. It is easy for many people to give up food and dietary addictions and very difficult for them to give up their time to live a more incredible life. Others haven’t gotten that far. Either way your participating in the Fully Alive! ten-day test will build your energy for the purposes you choose. I live an incredible life. I am part of a community of individuals, joint ventures, partnerships, LLC’s, corporations, and service organizations involved in sharing ways to make the planet a better place to live. My body is amazingly healthy thanks to the things I learn to use and pass on. I get to use my mindbody as a laboratory and workshop to provide instruction on how it operates and how best to get it moving in the direction of increased wholeness. One of the outcomes is not having a cold in the last 25 years! One of the results for you that you may not have expected to happen is that by shifting your biochemistry, you shift the lens through which you view the world. You begin to see yourself and others as special. This has been referred to as having a spiritual perspective. I write to you, the reader as if you were a spirit with a soul—like a DVD of your journey of living; a body—the vehicle of communication for your spirit; and a mind—a receiver of thoughts for the journey. It has been my experience if you treat people as conscious beings, they are able to respond that way. When I worked with clients, I would be sent those with mental disorders. Treating them as if they were sane produced apparently miraculous results. Thus, I write to you from this spiritual perspective to remind (re-mind, rewire, reveal) that which is already known within the spirit consciousness. It is my intention to assist you in your spiritual life—whatever that means to you. That intention supports your desire for assistance, community and support on the journey of life—as parents, producers, progeny in the worlds in which we together live. In It and Not Of It Self-full practices like meditation, walking, exercising, cooking, gardening, dancing, journaling, yoga and Full Wave Breathing are a part of every enriched life. If you are already engaged in giving YOURSELF time to regenerate, go within, quiet the ego mind chatter, stabilize your emotions, relax the muscles, then Full Wave Breathing for the next 10 days will make all of these things better. Think of it as building your spiritual muscle for the new year. You begin with a few repetitions to familiarize your mindbody with the mechanics. Then, like an athlete you focus on the basics and repeat them as you progress naturally, increasing the intensity and number of repetitions. Take A Quantum Leap! Think of health as a straight line _____________________________________________________ At one end you have disease and sickness____________________________________ At the other end you have _______________________________________high level wellness In the middle you have _________normal health_______________ Within the category of normal in the US, most people who are considered normal will suffer from heart disease, cancer and other stress related diseases. During our 10 days together, you will absolutely learn to master excessive stress in your life. You are moving forward to greater health. Think about it. Breathing incorrectly some 20,000 times each day becomes well ingrained as a pattern. The disused portions of the body atrophy. Muscles tighten, joints stiffen and elasticity declines. The brain starves for oxygen and thinking becomes muddled. Now, most importantly, you will be reversing this process. Your using Full Wave Breathing over the next 10 days will create an awareness within you and awaken you to your breathing. You will now notice when you get tense and without thought, automatically take a breath from your deep abdomen. You will notice that when challenges arise that you are breathing from deep within. You will be remembering your wholeness, going inside your body to re-center, clear your mind and restore balance from the inside out. You’ll rest more easily in your heart center and sleep better too. Healthy breathing is also great with any other regimen that is being followed. It supports the utilization of nutrients and well as the process of elimination. Breathing so that the cells are naturally fully oxygenated compliments all forms of therapy and most medical regimens as well. The idea is to become twofold: One, we become conscious of our breathing while we bathe, walk, wash dishes, exercise, watch TV, garden, drive, dance, make love, work, and play. When this occurs, we have developed the ability to use the breath to regulate and direct the bodymind for its optimum functioning: Body, Mind and Soul. Two, we develop the habit of healthy breathing so that even when we don’t think about it, we breathe in ways that support our functioning. Healthy breathing is easily described and most of us know enough to breathe from our belly. However, the body stores stress in the chest, abdomen, neck and shoulders and tension in these must be also be resolved. Until that takes place—as it does in Full Wave Breathing, the going can be slow. Developing the new habit requires time and motivation. You don’t’ have to work at it! Instead, play with your breathing, repeating the exercise for the next ten days. Find out how it works and experience how it feels in your body. Most everybody would like to operate at a higher level of functioning and feel better. What if you really do take the next ten day and include at least one daily session of breathing and remembering your wholeness? Something good will happen as you stretch, build your breathing muscles and resolve stored stress. That old stress stuck when you tightened up at a time of trauma, shock, anxiety or accident. You tried to solve the problem of the resulting symptoms unique to your life in various of ways with pills, potions, prescriptions and proscriptions. How about if now, instead of that, you spent ten minutes for ten days to resolve them? Wouldn’t that be easy to do? Now, do you love yourself enough to do it? I promise you, if you will do this one thing, you will benefit your entire mindbody system. Putting your resolution to remember your wholeness to work anchoring it to your breathing and your mindbody system will remember. You have heard perhaps that it takes 30 days or 21 days or some other number of repetitions to establish a new habit. I’ll bet you can do it in ten days! Shift your focus again to your breathing, repeating “Love” in your mind. Re-member your wholeness by taking a deep Full Wave Breath, beginning in the gut, stretching into your heart and flexing the neck as you go. You can begin with this wonderful process as soon as you can set aside 15 minutes. Use ten minutes of this time thinking the word love, opening the body, flexing it, dancing to the rhythm of life as you practice Full Wave Breathing. For those of you considering going beyond the ten-day test period and becoming part of a more in-depth 30-day test, make your trial period even easier by listening to music. You can hum a tune in your head—simultaneously breathing and thinking of Love—or play music. To make the greatest progress, listen to the Cosmic Waltz as you breathe for the first week, so you’ll develop a pace that is healthiest in all respects. Use your breathing as an exercise, working at your own pace and listening to the music. You can use any music you like to pace yourself. Anything that you like will work. The way the sound works is that we “absorb” the vibration and the mindbody system has taken its fill. So you can play any music you like. And take a look at the Cosmic Waltz and its variations. You let the music guide you while relaxing and stimulating you at the same time. You act as spirit energizing and focusing your life. I’m a researcher and teacher by nature. I was programmed to be lazy—and true to my father’s word I am. I know he would be proud. I look for the ways that involve the least effort in achieving health and balance on all levels. Fortunately I was also programmed to be an achiever. One of the talents I developed is to be able to find the best, most direct, least painful, most pleasurable ways to achieve my goals. I made health my priority and sought the healthiest ways to do things. The result began to speak for themselves, so I started telling people what I found out—both individuals and in groups,--and then sharing their results. I am still doing that. I experienced enough suffering in my life to cure me of its attraction. I invite you to do the same by joining in my 10 day test. You start today. You keep track of what’s going on, your results and ask questions. Then I’d like you to email me with your results. Next, with your permission I’ll post the report of your results so others will be encouraged to begin their own ten-day test. Then we’ll have even more stories to tell about how people can easily accept the responsibility for their health to lead lives of contribution in service and joy. What can you learn from a 67 year old man with the heart health of a 31-year old, the muscle tone of a teen and the cell vibrancy of a 20 year old? My last blood pressure test gave a reading of 103/78 with a pulse of 55. You can learn how to feel better, overcoming what were once considered handicaps and live more fully. You can learn how to affirm, access, activate and live from your essential wholeness. I went through disease with polio, disability and brain trauma with an auto accident, and faced the prospect of death with the collapse of my endocrine functions from all of the stress. I recovered. So can you. I achieved super health, and so can you! I went through depression—a biochemical state that is alterable by the way—and confusion as a soul seeking to solve the mystery of health. Would you be willing to let me show you how I did it, and how you can too? It will take me ten days to demonstrate this concept for you—the same time it will take you to put your test into action. Yes, and it will only take you a few minutes to know you are on the right track. I discovered that I what I did best was find different ways to do things and find the simplest ways to do them. Reporting my findings as an explorer in the world of health and spirit was my chosen task. I realized, however, that simply providing the information was not enough. I found that part of my job was also to help you take action. So I wrote books, created music, presented at workshops, clinic, and seminars. Now I write a holistic health column and ezine to help keep you engaged. Its purpose is to get you and keep you Fully Alive! That’s where motivation comes in. So I get to talk with you about your health and the advantages to you of improving it now. Take a look at my books for the detailed steps. Since, as a lazy individual, I was programmed not to exert self—minimal exercise that produces desired results; and minimizing addictions so as to provide energy toward goal directed activity. It didn’t, however, work like I thought with me sitting on a cloud using my mind to influence the outside world. Instead it became an inner process and one that keeps me active on the outer level as well. I was so lazy I wound up building a strong, muscular body so I wouldn’t have to strain doing the things required in navigating on my path with everyday life. I wasn’t particularly great at any of the things I did at life. I was always good at them, however—even when it was killing me with the stress of it all. So I quit. I walked out of that life to become a teacher of what I was learning from Life itself. Relying on my laziness, I asked the Universe for direction. I asked how to benefit the health and ease the suffering of the most people in the shortest period of time. Thus I was led to breathing and synthesizing Full Wave Breathing. Breathing as a study led me to ancient philosophies, spiritual traditions, and the essence of the function and purpose of the human mindbody system and our lives as soul and our nature as spirit. Life begins with your breathing and ends with it. In between, let’s see what it has to teach you. Find out what it has to teach you in your own Fully Alive! ten-day test. Why do I call it that? Because you need to build the energy to get going for yourself. The natural tendency—inertia—is, as you decline, for you to continue to decline. Becoming Fully Alive is getting over that tendency by inserting the missing ingredient in your healthcare program—YOU.
