For Your Health For Your Sanity

Just Breathe! is your monthly consciousness raising and expanding home-study course. Read the entire ezine--best for your enhanced awareness--or select articles that call to you. Just Breathe’s Purpose is:

  • Re-minding ourselves of the omnipresent connection with the Infinite;
  • Promoting cultivation and use of the spiritual power within one’s breath as a natural transformational and empowerment tool for the advancement of humanity beginning with the individual;
  • Sharing uplifting ideas;
  • Keeping our thoughts heading in the direction of our choosing, our emotions open and flowing, and physically feeling fully alive.

WHO?

BY my calculation there are approximately 25 million adult Americans who have reached the stage that I call awake. What I mean by this is people who know they are more than their ego personality identities; that they are spiritual beings on a human adventure.

It is to this group of people that I offer services and suggestions, products and promotions, workshops and seminars to enable, facilitate and support their most joyful experience while in a human body. It is also to this group that the Just Breathe! ezine—monthly magazine—is addressed.

Please forward Just Breathe! to a friend and check out our new Web site landing page @ www.internationalbreathinstitute.com

Letter from the Editor (Writer, Proof Reader and Researcher)

This Month’s Issue

Presidementia has passed or at least the first portion of it until the inauguration excitement and the holidays are here—times for going inside and being of good cheer. I trust you had a happy Thanksgiving this year.

“We rarely repent from having eaten too little”—Thomas Jefferson

A past weekend’s project was reading the latest from Dr. David Hawkins, Reality, Spirituality and Modern Man. A sweeping summation of his prior works (highly recommended and listed on the IBI web site for your ordering convenience) Dr. Hawkins explains clearly why things are the way they are today—nationally and internationally, economically, politically and socially.

Dr. Hawkins (M.D.; Ph.D.) is the Director of the Institute for Spiritual Research, Inc.; widely known author and speaker and his most recent book will be is a heavy read for most people and can be slow going at times. Yet the information is of immense value and particularly so for those who seek greater understanding

How else can you really understand when the AMA proclaims to the world that the organization is now encouraging doctors to educate patients about the risks of texting while driving. How, seemingly, did the world grow so stupid that not paying attention to what you are doing while operating a motor vehicle becomes a medical matter?

The AMA is the same group that exaggerated by 200% the dangers of obesity and scared everyone with their invalid second-hand smoke study. It seems if 1/3 of their tests are unreliable.

Texting while at the wheel is even more dangerous than driving drunk—tho this comment is not intended as a recommendation or a forgiveness of that practice. It just seems that the dumbing-down grows as the population expands.

Imagine, the next thing people will believe is that the housing market will always grow in value—Oops, already been there done that; or that purchasing on credit is like its free.

So, what’s a person to do except work on his own consciousness, take care of his own health, be responsible for his own actions and allow others to text, overspend and charge without regard? Yep, that’s it. There is nothing more to be done. From working on one’s own relationship with Self, the individual is able to avoid the texters who drive and the consequence of their actions.

A new day has begun and while government continues to grow and intrude into private life, there is an inner oasis to which you can retreat when you’ve had enuff of stock market conversation, predications of economic gloom and doom and warnings of the next big threat to your health (repeated annually so you remain tense and more receptive to programming and indoctrination.) The inner oasis is located just at the completion of 100 Full Wave Breaths. Go ahead and take the trip and let me know of your result.

This month’s issue continues in the theme of Self-Care Health Care as being the only thing that works—short or long term. Who do you want making decisions about your or your family’s health—the voting public; those stuck in the medical, drugs and surgery paradigm; or the media pundits who still think they get all they need in the way of nutrition from the Standard American Diet (SAD)? I don’t’ think so.

There’s a new book coming out for you to help with caring for your heath. Actually, there are 3 on the way based upon my research and results over the last 30 years. Their release date will be announced in a future issue of Just Breathe!

Other features this month include another visit to the animal kingdom and Messing with Mother (Nature that is) more exercises for the Soul, updates to the ABC of Consciousness, Your Healthy Heart and Imaginal Products; plus articles for your humor, entertainment and amusement as well as your enlightened awareness.

As the fullness of fall is felt in the air, we are reminded of the progression of cycles—expansion and contraction. We, as beings of nature, understand that there is a time for planting and of harvesting, of activity and rest. Our ancestors planned their lives around the natural cycles of the moon.

More recently, however, our expectation has been that of endless growth—personally and for our economy and investments. It is unnatural to expect a day without a night and doing so results in becoming depressed with our unfolding present. So, yes there are lean times and fat times, abundance and scarcity. Our responsibility is to keep our attitude on an even keel as we sail our ship of soul through our earth lives. Otherwise, we wind up on the shoals of despair or beached on the sands of our regret.

There are, as well, cycles within cycles and days when we feel more up than others. Living in harmony with our own inner cycles as well as those of the outer world enables us to weather the storms that may be part of this cycle, this period. Concerned? Sit and breathe your body for a few minutes. Need insight? Sit and breathe your body for a few minutes. Tense? Sit and breathe your body for a few minutes. Repeat as often as required.

Exercise for The Soul

Thanksgiving is a time when we are reminded to be grateful for the many blessings of our lives. Often we bypass their enumeration for there are so many blessings. Yet, gratitude—even expressed the week after the official day—brings a beneficial energy to the mindbody system. Feeling grateful produces a healthful biochemical state; therefore, even as you read now, feel gratitude for your physical incarnation beginning in the heart and echoing out around the earth; for your friends and loved ones, pets and nature—also radiating from the heart; for the opportunities that you have experienced and for those in the future. Next, holding that open space, take 3 Full Wave Breaths and continue reading, feeling more refreshed, connected and centered. Allow gratitude to enter on your inhale and transmit on your exhale. You may continue beyond the number of three if it feels good for you  to do so.

From Rabbi Rami Shapiro’s December column in Spirituality and Health:  What Are Heaven and Hell?

Some people say heaven and hell are places you go when you die. I say they are places you live here and now. When you forget you are one with God and all life, you live in fear. This is hell. When you remember you are one with God and all life, you live in wonder, This is heaven. When you live in hell, you are angry, jealous and sometimes violent. When you live in heaven, you are kind, just and sometimes heroic. Don’t worry about what happens after you die, worry about how you live before you die.

“Money is the most envied, but the least enjoyed.
Health is the most enjoyed, but the least envied."

— Charles Caleb Colton: (1780-1832) British clergyman, sportsman and author

If the above quote has meaning for you, then reading Breathe and Grow Rich will be a rewarding experience for you. If you don’t relate to the quote, you need to read Breathe and Grow Rich. Every though there are less than 30 days remaining in this year, this book is still likely to be the most significant one you will read all year.

Investment Guide for the Conscious Soul

Investing in Your Self during slow economic times is the best way to move through the cycle and prepare for the new opportunities that will unfold. What does this mean? It means spending time learning new skills including mind and mood management to boost attitude and increase awareness and discernment regarding new opportunities.

Wake Up! The Wholeness Procedure is a workshop title for a gathering that took place on October 25 at the Life Breath Institute Center in East Greenwich, Rhode Island. Participants were successfully re-minded of who they are and experience the energetic consequence (pleasure, upliftment, bliss) of that re-membering.  Music, movement, meditation and mind-expanding perspectives were the themes running through the exercises and throughout the day. If you’ve never attended such a gathering, you owe it to yourself to do so.

This particular workshop is a one-day affair and I ask you to leave the next day free of any intellectual pursuits that would keep you from fully enjoying the afterglow that occurs when you are in a space that is so outrageously self-loving.

You can read about the content and intent of the workshop by clicking on the seminar name in the right hand column of the ezine. Or you can go to the IBI web site @ www.internationalbreathinstitute.com and find a description there. I would also be pleased to speak with you about bringing this event to your area of the country.

The Nature of Unity

The interconnectedness of the elements within a system—financial and physical--is being emphasized in dramatic fashion by the “birthquakes” occurring throughout the world’s economy and reveals the holistic nature underlying all societal structures.  One organ system—banking—goes down and the rest of the body—manufacturing, technical  and retail--is also threatened. Those who have been asking to live in a world that is awake to it’s unity will be pleased to know their hopes, desires and prayers have been effective. The economic destabilization and subsequent rearrangement is awakening the world’s population to the necessary understanding of the relatedness of all countries in a collective, global marketplace. Where once independence was seen as isolationism, it now changes to the desire for self-sufficiency while recognizing the interdependent nature of all of the nations of the world.

Economic Forecast

For the new year the outlook is gloomy. Consider what the media tells you and you will see this to be true. If the economy is growing then you are told to be wary of the dangers of inflation. If, on the other hand, the economy is contracting, then you are told to be afraid of recession. If all is temporarily quiet on the economic scene, then you are warned of the dangers of stagflation or (the new one) disinflation.

Just as there were no reports on the news of all of the planes that landed safely or the millions who arrived unscathed at their destinations, unless there is a problem or one can be made up, there is no news. Once we understand how the media is in the business of making up things and even pretending to be afraid, find fault, insult or outrage, then their antics are simply the normal everyday happenings in a disordered society. Your job and mine is to remain centered, heart oriented and to keep breathing. It’s pretty simple to remain centered and heart oriented:

Just Breathe! and then do the next thing.

Finally energy medicine is being used to heal the financial world -- we have homeopathic currency, diluted down to a mere trace of real value." -- Swami Beyondananda

Your Healthy Heart—6

Have you heard that taking statins would lower the risk of heart disease by 50%? The figure is just another example of manipulation. Of those taking the drug (17,800 people in the study) 1.6% had a “cardiovascular event; those on the placebo 2.8%. Where most of us went to school the difference between 2.8 and 1.6 is only 1.2%, not 50%. Except that if you want to make a point, the difference of 1.2% compared to the incidence of 1.6% is huge. Just another market ploy by the drug maker.

Meanwhile, the holidays are a time of great stress for many people. What is the effect of stress on the heart? Its greater than you’ve thus far been told and the reason why lifestyle modification is the most effective remedy for existing problems of heart disease and the best way to prevent the onset of stroke or heart attack. From The Edge

In this column I write to the enlightened space within every person and all of my brothers and sisters who share this Earth. My long life has led me to conclude that the place of light, the gift of grace given each, can be cultivated , nurtured into a life of compassionate regard for every form of life. Speaking each month to that space within each reader is intended to “exercise” the knowing self, connect with the awakened self, the Self of all.

My vision would be that by observing and engaging other humans from this space affords the best opportunity for harmonious living. Doing so quiets the mind and permits communication from the heart and mind working together.

Heart communicates inclusion and understanding. Fear is overcome. Continue with you Full Wave Breathing to energetically resolve (recalibrate, reformat) cellular stored trauma and fear.  In other words, get straight with yourself first. Then, consciously connect with the hearts of others, so you can “see” the space of enlightenment within.

This month’s column focuses on some of what is taught during a RAPT seminar—that the buzz about evolution and the gradual progression of the human species is hogwash. Even without being able in writing to take you through the experience of “realizing” (making real in your own body) this truth, let’s at least go about it logically.   Read More...

Words of the Wise

"They say that time changes things, but you
actually have to change them yourself."
— Andy Warhol

God within me, God without.
How shall I ever be in doubt?
There is no place where I may go
And not there see God's face, not know
I am God's vision and God's ears.
So through the harvest of my years
I am the Sower and the Sown,
God's self unfolding and God's own.

The Duh Factor

(Maybe we should change the title of this column to “I wonder how much they spent on this?”)

Training and Training Wheels

What would happen if you each morning and afternoon you spent 15 minutes training the dog you adopted? The normal result is that within a couple of weeks, the dog would be submissively responding to your commands. All you have to do is put in the time to discipline the creature.

Think of your ego mind in the same way—a creature needing structure for best results and to keep it from running roughshod in your mental household and in your life. Imagine that you would take 15 minutes each morning and afternoon to train it—with affirmations as you breathe. What do you think would happen?

I suggest that your result is that your mindbody would begin to associate the breathing with the affirmation and the good feelings generated. Over a period of time, maybe as quickly as two weeks, every time you took a conscious breath, from deep within the positive affirmation association would trigger. This would make your breathing and your affirmations more effective, wouldn’t it? As usual, don’t take my word for it. Give it a trial period for a couple of weeks and see what happens—naturally—in your life.

Many people understand the idea that their thoughts are creative. What is difficult is to keep the mind focused on the goal and not on it’s not being currently realized. It requires tremendous mental discipline to focus upon receiving and being grateful for having received/achieved the goal. Fortunately, there is a set of training wheels you can use to train your brain to be aware in the present and not get caught up in regret, worry, and other low-energy, life draining states.

The training wheels are your inhale and exhale. That’s right; you can use your breathing to keep you on track. First you open up the body, restoring circulation and oxygenating cells, tissues and organs. Then you use your breathing to engage your feeling body so you can empower your emotions in behalf of goals.

Now you are ready to train the mind and can more effectively use affirmation and imagery by combining them with your breathing. It sounds simple, and it is.

It is also easy. Follow the steps, gaining energy and confidence as you go, and you’ll reach your destination. It’s an easy 30 days to a new you.

Order Breathe and Grow Rich now and enrich your life step by step in a 30 day program.

Breathe and Grow Rich Reminder

Q&A

I have questions about the new book, Breathe and Grow Rich.

Answer 1. Prosperity includes an abundance of all good things—Wholeness, including Health, Wealth and Joy. Breathe and Grow Rich is a step by step guide engaging a person in activity leading to goal acquisition, achievement or manifestation.

2. Is this like “The Secret?”

Only in the sense that it promotes a better understanding the value of being able to focus one’s mind in living the best life possible. It is unlike in that it does not “sell hope without technique.” Breathe and Grow Rich provides an understanding of “the process” backed by method.

3. Breathe and Grow Rich is a how-to for those who’d like to have more energy and accomplish more in their lives. The promise is noticeable beneficial change in less than 30 days.

4. The subtitle of the book is Self-Care to Enrich Your Whole Life. What does that mean?

Accepting responsibility for, being responsive to one’s health is the first step. The first step in doing that lies in learning and using a breathing technique as if it were an exercise like walking—something you do because it benefits you and feels good.

Few actually achieve their goal of living a life of purpose, passion and productivity. They run out of energy—physical, emotional, mental and spiritual. The answer to the problem could be attributed to low energy.

As energetic beings we can control the 85% of our bio-chemistry that help us think better and be clearer, have a better mood and feel lighter. The secret in this case lies in your breath.  Order Breathe and Grow Rich.

The Ongoing Process

Breathing is one of the things to be looked after because it is one of the most important things.

If you are not breathing fully, you cannot live fully.  Then almost everywhere you will be withholding something, even in love. In talking even, you will be withholding. You will not communicate completely; something will always remain incomplete.

Once breathing is perfect everything else falls into line. Breathing is life. But people ignore it, they don’t worry about it at all, they don’t pay it any attention.

And every change that is going to happen is going to happen through the change in your breathing.  --Osho

As your Full Wave Breathing practice continues so will the challenges to your expansion arise energetically to reflect in your world. Keep breathing anyway. When as children we shut down or contracted on an issue that arose in our experience, we installed a judgment to keep the constriction in place.

Now, when breathing, that judgment arises in the natural course of cleansing for our review. If we concluded at age 3, that “cats are terrible,” we may have just the passing thought or a more pleasant new encounter presented by the Universe to see if we wish to retain that judgment/opinion and the ensuing contraction of energy.

Instead of cats, the issue could have been one of our innumerable “men are” or “women are” programs buried inside our biocomputer waiting to either be up-dated or re-validated.

As your breathing continues, you will want to go to sleep again and forget it all. Keep breathing anyway. Ah it feel so good to be sedated, unaware, drifting and ig-norant. If ignorance IS bliss, then the folly of being wise is a powerful seduction to resist sentient inquiry or action. Such witticisms are concocted by the ig-norant for they enjoy most their own company.

As your breathing continues, your mind will want to convince you to stop and do something "important." Keep breathing anyway. In a world of crisis, the next crisis calls. Forget about self-caretaking, isn’t the sky about to fall? We learn to live like “Chicken Little” running around and getting caught up in the latest concern and prediction of the sky falling down upon us. It is then only “normal” that we avoid activities of self-renewal. It is also thus normal for people to experience stress-related diseases that eventually overwhelm any healthcare system and any body.

As your breathing continues, you will find yourself more detached from the goings-on in the world. Keep breathing anyway. Tuning out can be as simple as turning off the television and not getting caught up in the drama of a pubescent adult discovering her life, or who the ten hottest move stars are for this year. Taking that time to go within—breathing and meditation—creates a space away from it. Think of your mind as an airport and thoughts as planes. Don’t let thoughts that don’t directly and positively impact your wellbeing land. You are the sovereign of your mind; choose carefully who may cross your borders.

As your breathing continues, you will find your compassion and joy growing. Keep breathing! To me, it is an interesting commentary that positive results promised produce less individual action than avoidance of negative consequence. Perhaps I should have worded this, as your breathing continues, and help prevent death from cancer and surgery. Anyway, keep breathing!—And utilize the IBI Library as a resource and a location of articles on whole-person health and parenting. www.internationalbreathinstitute.com

Take a Breath

Give your mindbodyspirit system a gift of peace for the new you. You are one who recognizes that though you cannot control how others act, you directly contribute to the emotional energy of a situation. Thinking love, radiating peace, you support others and this, in turn, boosts you.

The ABC's of Higher Consciousness

Attitude--Expectant or repellant; positive or negative; open or closed to Life; and embracing as differentiated from resisting; healing or declining; We can get better or get bitter. Make it a nice day!

Breath--Let the exhale demonstrate the complete surrender to God/Universe of all cares and concerns; becoming non-resistant to the tensions of the body, relaxing the cells, molecules and atoms. Consciously directing our breathing throughout your day re-minds us of our spiritual nature, and is a boost to health and energy.

Choice—We either listen to the voice for Love or the voice for Fear, that of ego. One knows that all are innocent; the other blames and sees the guilty. The choice is ours:

  • Tune into the Love channel
  • Access essence
  • Understand
  • Awaken

Determination--Nothing happens without our dedicated effort. Even something as simple as breathing requires our participation. To achieve more in life, there must be more invested. Usually all that is required is the gift of time. Let’s give it to ourselves.

Energy--All is energy vibrating at different rates. Each lives, moves and has its being in this Energy. It is called Soul, Creator/Source, God, Universe, All That Is. IT is bigger than can be imagined.

Focus--What we focus upon grows.

  • Focus upon the joy in life

  • Daily expression of gratitude

  • Moving forward to meet our dreams.

Our deepest dream is of unity, enlightenment, experiencing oneness, realization, actualization, transcendent consciousness--and not of material things. This is why when we get them, achieve, and succeed, we hunger for more. The most helpful dream is to achieve enlightenment. It continues after awakening.

Freedom—In our soul we are free. The challenge is to bring that freedom fully into our life through management of our energy. Our beliefs create our emotions and inform our health. What is required is individual to each of us; yet the path is similar as we ask, what beliefs would be required to produce a life of freedom, grace and ease —and adopt them.

Grace--There is a never-ending flow of grace awaiting our awareness so that: Life is more joyous, and the bumps on the path become less disruptive as we learn/remember/awaken into higher mind, beyond that of egoic consciousness. Full Wave Breathing can make the journey easier than ever before. Think of grace as effortless growth through your connection with joy.

Heaven or Hell—We get to choose which state to engage. If, as the master teachers say, “Heaven is within,” why don’t we going there more often to visit? What would happen if we devoted (consecrated) 100 breaths each day to do so? Who among us dares not find out?

Integrity—Being whole and complete is the essential nature of each individual--the potential seeking expression. What would happen if we each dedicated the next 100 Full Wave Breaths to feeling our wholeness, our integrity?

Joy—The vibration of Joy takes us out of person-ality and is the product of our connection with unity. Becoming a Joy finder in all that you we do,   making it part of our daily and life mission, calls us forward into greater life. The path to Joy is the dedication of life--our life, all life--to the good of all.

Kindness--Considered as one of the seven virtues, opposites of the seven deadly sins, Kindness is being helpful to one in need for the advantage of the person helped. It is treating the other as self, expressing our deeper connection and responding from the heart.  Kindness is caring in action.

Love—The substrate of being, the underlying nature of the unified field, the interconnectedness of all life and the unquestioning regard for all living expression.

Multiplicity—The nature of the One is manifest in multiplicity. Imagine each choice giving rise to an alternate universe—All That Is encompassing every possibility. The mind cannot hold it all or decide amongst the choices. The inner battle is won when the mind defers to the heart’s wisdom.

Natural—It is natural for the body to heal itself when the impediments and blocks to healing are removed. You are already whole and complete as a being. You are naturally your best self. Nothing more is required than to be natural. To become natural usually requires removing the unnatural—the ego thoughts and programs of lack and limitation.

Opportunity—Each moment brings us the choice to serve the ego or the true self. You can usually tell which choice you made by the way you feel. Are you calm and filled with peace? If not, as the Course in Miracles says, choose again. Take a few Full Wave Breaths, affirm that you serve the true self and continue with what you were doing. Doing so is a reminder that you are already whole and complete and, if you were serving the ego, had simply gone temporarily insane. It is no big thing, for with even one conscious breath to power your intention to be your best self, you are back on track and leaving the thoughts of worry and regret or anxiety and tension. Enjoy yourself! (Pump joy INTO your self)

Purpose—What if your purpose in life as a divine being was Joy—its embracement and expression? What if you had been born with a virtually unlimited capacity for joy and your culture had taught you to suppress it? Then all you would have to do to regain or recapture it would be to acknowledge and express it. What if joy were already inside of you, at the core of each cell? Then all you’d need to do to fulfill your purpose would be to relax and allow the joy within to guide your outer activities. How to do this is simple: Just Breathe!...and then do the next thing.

Query—The path is strewn with debris—old ideas handed down without experience. Dogma and unproven belief are potholes and cracks in the pavement to be avoided on our path. Over time they can become sinkholes, swallowing up the spiritual student and denying the light. Find out for yourself. Put teaching and techniques to the test in the laboratory of your own life. Otherwise you cannot know and eventually must be betrayed by the immortalized words of the unknowing who, believing, blundered blindly ahead. Have your beliefs been given you to control, enroll or enslave? Challenge them.

Regeneration—literally a new birth is given for the asking with each breath. More than the replacement of tissue or the growing of a lost limb, regenerations is a change of heart spoken of in the Bible as a passing from death to life. It occurs naturally when individual life is dedicated to spiritual instead of ego purpose. Spiritual purpose is love and dedication to It’s experience and practice bestows a renewal of the mind or quickening. Breathe the idea of regeneration fully into you body and see how it feels to you. Let your experience in “putting on” this idea be your guide as to its value in your life. Repeat often.

Spirit—is all That Is. Manifesting as Life, Spirit informs us. Contacting and living from the inner spirit was once the responsibility of every member of every tribe and contributed to the whole. It was also the only way to stay alive. Later the connection to and study of spirit was accorded to those who led cloistered lives, the sainted figures in history and those who received initiation. Now it is open to all who choose to follow such a pursuit, bestowing peace, love and joy for its practitioners. Breathe with the idea of remembering your connection with Spirit and test its benefit in the laboratory of your own life.

Trust—the Life that you are. The Universe is a complex unfolding too profound to understand with the linear mind. Yet each person has an inner connection that provides information about safety. The spirit that lives within and manifests as all things around you leads life through you. Since the Universe is too large to worry about, what’s a person to do? Feel your way through it by keeping your breathing open. When you feel tightness or a constriction in your breath it’s a signal that you are TEMPORARILY out of balance. Breathe, rebalance and ask within regarding the situation you find yourself in.

Unique—each one of us.  There has never been another you or me. It all the Universe and all the dimensions known and as yet unknown, we are the only one with the specific embodied characteristic. We all are alike in this regard. Though our physical expressions as tall or short, dull or bright;  each is unlike any other and a required part of the whole. Spirit manifests through us as an artist expressing in form. Surely, in all of creation that is another you or me that is and inch shorter or taller; and otherwise the same—along with all possible variations. Yet this one of you or me is unique. It could not be otherwise. Yet we learn to desire to be like others. It drives some of us crazy; others of us sane. Which are you?

Valid—each one of us. Since there has never been another you, you are the only one qualified to be the authority in your life. It is your experience and it is valid—for you. Subjective reality is often dismissed; yet who can say what is real or of value for you the individual? It is only you. This holiday session is a reminder to let the light that you are shine brightly as a valid and valued aspect of the whole.

JB! readers are typically those who know of their make-up as body, mind and spirit. They are referred to as the awakening or awake as contrasted with being asleep to or oblivious of one’s spiritual nature. Just Breathe! is for people consciously embracing their spiritual path.

As a whole (holistic, holy) being each of us is comprised of physical, emotional, mental and spiritual aspects coordinated within one unitary expression. The four aspects of the mindbodysoul system are examined and described separately for clarification.

From an energetic perspective, each of us is are already whole and complete, expressing our true nature at our individual level of evolution of consciousness. Modern science and ancient wisdom confirm our divinity, the existence of the soul and life that continues beyond physical death.

Render Greater Service

The implications of human nature as consciousness with a “soul” are profound. Scientific revelations validate both ancient and more modern spiritual knowledge. Taking action to be one’s “best” or higher, more enlightened self is generally conceded to be the greatest service or gift to others any one person can make.

If there were nothing to fix, and only to realize (make real) one’s true nature, a good first step would be to make real that feeling (of wholeness and completion) in the body by anchoring it with Full Wave Breathing. All that is required is to put Full Wave Breathing to work. Repeated over time, the seemingly miraculous occurs.

Content

The Just Breathe! ezine expresses a view of the mindbodysoul aspects of holistic health. It is a monthly newsletter for the awakened and awakening--who know themselves to be multidimensional (energetic, divine sparks) beings with physical, emotional, mental and spiritual aspects. It is for those who practice their spiritual purpose by living lives of greater enlightenment and service through the pathways of Love, Joy and Peace.

The Soul

This ezine is for those whose interest is in their consciousness (increasing conscious awareness) as a spiritual being. Just Breathe! is a community (common unity) connection for awakening and awakened beings, integrating the wonders of Life. Just Breathe! shares a perspective, an alternative (holistic) view of human existence, intended to expand the mind's understanding. The mind then relaxes so the ego “watch dog” role that produces anxiety and tension can be set aside. Head and heart function together to respond to life’s circumstances, operating from "higher" consciousness or being in the flow of life.

The general idea is that the more whole one’s life, then the greater is the access to health and happiness. Researcher Dr. David Hawkins points out that to increase awareness even a little is significant because growth is logarithmic rather than linear.

Healing

Having awakened to, become cognizant of, the process of awakening, the usual next step is to heal the physical level. Otherwise energy that could be utilized at another level of being is expended on maintenance of the body.

Healing may or may not involve a “cure” for any condition. The healing step enables the individuated soul to more freely express creativity and joy. Each “healee” then becomes the source-connection of transformation for others. The lower body, housing the gut brain, is harmonized with the head/heart, operating as one. The vibratory effect upon others is harmonious, uplifting and, in-turn, transformative. One-by-one, each part of the whole—represented by the individual-- sounds his note until music abounds.

Context

Full Wave Breathing, among a host of alternatives, is the single, most important exercise for our life and whole health. Those who use it regularly feel better and more alive.

Think About It: Each of us is a cell in the body of humanity, totally unique--just like everyone else. Each is tasked with job of expressing their potential. An awesome task, it is impossible unless you breathe well.

Work Task

My chosen job is to train joy generators, individuals who seek to be avenues of healing and upliftment to the world around them. The by- product of being a joy generator is that you live in the flow of life, balanced and harmonious in your world. Isn’t it really your mission to pursue joy—the soul connection with life? Once you get the joy part, you then have a new mission to spread the joy. Joy generators are much needed. Today.

Oh, by the way, joy comes from living in the now, neither pulled into the past by guilt and regret nor thrust into the consideration of the future in worry and anxiety. There are 3 Steps to Joy

Three Steps to Joy

  1. Open Your Breathing with Full Wave Breathing
  2. Become Aware of Your Breathing Throughout the Day
  3. Just Breathe and then do the next thing

Focusing in the present using the breath is an easy way to be constantly re-minded of our nature as spiritual beings. Observe your cat or dog as breathing takes place. The inhale and exhale are connected—just like in your Full Wave Breathing exercise. Notice how you breathe today. And exercise your breathing at least once daily for as little as a month and see if it doesn’t help:

    • The way you feel in general
    • The way you feel about things
    • The way things feel to you.

In The Coming Months

I’ll be challenging your to become more joyful and providing timely information:

More From Your Healthy Heart—Your Heart Speaking—Lessons of Love.

View From The Edge—Plain Speaking about the Spiritual Journey—a continuing column

Remedy to Spiritual Bypass—the body; go back to basics; breathing is basic.

The Best Deal in the World—Freedom from Respiratory Stress—The Price—Full Wave Breathing. It is a free service you provide for your Self.

Realization

What is personal realization? I use this term instead “enlightenment” to describe what happens when you realize you are part of the One—actually the One—looking out from the personal identity eyes. The task, after having such an awakening, epiphany or illumination, is to live from that glimpse of conscious awareness full time or to “make real” the awareness.

People who take our workshops often report such awakening or enlightening experiences. Then, as is inevitable since we are in bodies for a purpose, the euphoria passes and we are once again confronted with our daily lives. The stressors have not disappeared. Hopefully, however, the insights gained in such moments enable us to embrace life with more love and less reaction.

Yeah, don’t we wish! Too often, the weekend ends, and tomorrow is rush hour again, tugs on mommy’s skirt and the pressures of hunting down the next meal. How is a person supposed to deal? As you have learned, there is no “supposed to.” Each one of us is already well-equipped to deal with our lives. The solution, as you continue to be reminded, is simple: Just Breathe! and then do the next thing.

So I am hoping you’ll continue to be a member of the IBI (say those three letters aloud 3 time and see how it feels) community. If you like, I won’t refer to you as a heavy breather. Besides I’d rather know you as a conscious soul.

My job? (Acronym for Joy Of Being) My job is to tune into what is needed in the readership group and write about effectively handling the challenges presented by living in a body in these increasingly challenging times.

For those who have journeyed with me this far in the ezine, there is a special announcement. A new workshop is set for those who wish to fly highest and fastest in their spiritual exploration and journey. It requires that you have reached a certain level of what is termed “spiritual growth” before participation would be appropriate for you. I promise, however, for those who do attend, truly amazing results. Special Announcement.

What’s Ahead?

You’ll begin to notice that the people around you find it more difficult more people to stay centered and balanced. Your job is to maintain a heart-oriented focus as you observe this taking place. Doing so is a gift to yourself and those around you. Avoid many of the difficulties inherent in living in these exciting times by remembering to Just Breathe!...and then do the next thing.

Remembering is easier than ever with Full Wave Breathing and this ezine as reminders.  So consider the Just Breathe! Ezine as champion of your cause.. Just Breathe! is a simple statement with which to begin. Then the newsletter provides ways to most effectively discover what the next thing IS for you.

I look forward to increasing my service to you. As always, you can email me with any questions or suggestions.

Training the Brain

Some of the information in the ezine is repeated so it becomes ingrained in your consciousness. Simply reading the material is of benefit. Each month the words change slightly, the concepts becoming more refined and defined. Look for the changes, the shifts in emphasis and expansion of ideas in each new issue. Those who skip sections are missing information that could be important in creating and expanding their joyful existence.

The usual human tendency is to have to hear or read things many times before acceptance sinks in. This very normal process occurs when an idea is first introduced. Repeated exposure then brings us to acceptance, and finally adoption of an idea. Then changes occur automatically as if by some magical process. It is a magical process in that science cannot yet explain how, as our attitude shifts, the cells respond as if they were conscious. If they act as if they are conscious, what does that tell us about their nature?

Note: See Advanced Full Wave Breathing at the end of the exercise instruction.

A Simple Message That Bears Repeating

Use Full Wave Breathing to effectively manage 85% of your biochemistry and boost your mindbodysoul system's natural healing ability. How important is this in your life? How great do you want to feel? What would happen if you tithed 10% of your time to your spiritual unfoldment? What kind of result do you imagine would occur? 2.4 hours per day x 6 days would give you the equivalent of a day and a half of normal “work” time devoted just to you. What kind of results would you expect? Those who practice Full Wave Breathing daily report incredible results. Start where you are and build progressively—like any other kind of exercise.

Detailed instruction, exercise and testimonials are in the new book now available to Just Breathe! readers. Breathe and Grow Rich leads you to the missing link to manifestation. If there were only one book you’d read this year, this is the one I’d recommend for you.

Sickcare—The System

If you don't take care of your own health you become a participant in what is known as Healthcare, Sickcare a system based upon the study of sick people and focusing on how to "fix" them. It addresses symptoms rather than causes and treats disease as an enemy to be eradicated. Imagine instead that you observed healthy people and adopted their practices. What might then be the result and the state of your health?

It is not that you ignore pain. Do get out of pain first. If you have a condition, take care of it. Get the help you need. And do ask inside. Pose your question about your condition is your mind: Mindbody, what do I need to do about _______? Then Full Wave Breathe for 15 minutes and note your insights and answers. It usually doesn’t even take that long before you get an answer and achieve understanding of what steps to take.

Self-Responsible LoveCare™

How would you treat illness if it was not your enemy, and was instead only a message concerning stressors in your mind and body? Most likely you would cooperate with the body using principles based upon natural health. The first place to begin is with the basic foundation of life, your breathing.

Our mind and body work well until overloaded with stressors accumulating in cells and tissues. Chronic stress then makes us become a shallow breather, wearing down the immune system. Blood becomes toxic, and lacking oxygen and energy, the body is unable to defend itself against either internal or environmental stressors. The result is discomfort, disease, disability and premature death. Fortunately, for the wise, there is an alternative!

Each of us can practice protective and preventative, remedial and restorative self-care by doing the things we already know to do to support autoimmune health: Update beliefs, eliminate toxins in food and water, manage toxic emotions, avoid toxic noise and breathe!

Holistic Practices

  • The foundation of all holistic health practices is deeper, more effective breathing that benefits respiration, circulation, vitality, digestion, assimilation, and more.
  • Breathing affects the entire system.
  • Master breathing and we master the ability to stimulate healing resources.
  • Direct the power of the mind using breathing.

Use Full Wave Breathing to simultaneously stimulate and relax the mindbody system Become aware of the body breathing, allowing thoughts to pass and enter a meditative state of calm alertness.

High Blood Pressure, Anxiety and Worry

Have high blood pressure? Worried or anxious about the future?

“Deep breathing is the first line of defense against chronic stress and resultant high blood pressure” –Bruce West, MD

Elevated blood pressure accompanies those bodily states where rapid, shallow breathing prevails. By altering breathing to a slow a diaphragmatic mode, blood pressure decreases. Elevated blood pressure is a major American health problem.” - Robert Fried, PhD, The Breath Connection

Full Wave Breathing promotes the unimpeded flow of consciousness through every cell in the body as healing takes place on all levels.

Full Wave Breathing expands our aliveness—as we fill all of the cells in the body with Joy. Smiling as we take 5 Full Wave Breaths, we can imagine all of the organs, glands and cells smiling, singing and dancing inside. In less than a minute, we naturally feel better.

Q & A

What does personality learn during this time of soul emergence?

1.         Surrender

2.         Detachment

3.         Accommodation

4.         Acknowledgement

5.         Acceptance

Surrender:

  • To be willing to follow where soul leads;
  • That our desire to grow is greater than our fear of moving forward;
  • That we are willing to listen more to our intuition and to heart than to let self be confused by the mind’s opinions, judgments, prejudices.

This is not to say that we disregard mind completely. For in order to achieve stability, common sense in the third dimension world is just as important to making things happen as is the flow of our intuitive perception. To surrender means that we cease to fight the current, ending struggle, anxiety, and confusion.

Detachment

  • To release personality preferences
  • That our joy is more important than being right
  • That we can still be engaged

Detachment is the opposite of not caring. It is because we do care—about our well being and peace of mind—that we keep an open mind, remembering that things DO work out for our best interest in the long run. Similar to surrender, detachment means we are responsible and active—and do not worry about the past or future.

Accommodation

  • To allow others their reality
  • To adapt to change
  • To engage with understanding

Accommodation is also used to imply the implementation of a new purpose or strategy—such a living for a soul rather than an ego perspective.

Acknowledgement

  • To admit the truth
  • To surrender to one’s spiritual nature
  • To live life based upon one spirit

Acceptance

  • To believe that all comes from God for our benefit
  • Living in a safe world
  • Allowing others to be whomever they need to be

Steps to Being In the Flow

1. Belly Breathing

2. Crown Focus

3. Love Feeling

Myth—the Self must die and be reborn.

Inside Stuff

Imagine that you had a subconscious mind filled with fear-based survival programs and defense mechanisms. They came from your ancestors and culture and are viruses that, unless dealt with, grow to take over the human bio-computer. Disarming them is the first step. Restoring the system, the second; and upgrading is the third. To clean the hard-drive involves the activity of breathing to detoxify. While this process is taking effect, the mind is quieted providing a valuable active form of meditation. Intellect and feelings work together in one system.

The decision to live a mediocre life is usually a result of default programming. We sort of wind up with our health and our life. To change our software involves the conscious effort to think thoughts that produce harmonious mind body states.

Old Words of the Wise

There are repeated monthly for your Greatest Joy and Ease:

“You are God manifest in your time and space in order to bring justice and compassion to bear on this moment. Knowing this, living this is meditation”—Rabbi Rami Shapiro (www.spiritualityhealth.com)

“To best serve the world, seek Enlightenment and transcend illusions rather than contribute to them.”—David R. Hawkins

We can shift our biochemical state to a supportive one whenever you become aware of feeling constricted, closed or negative simply by breathing 5 Full Wave Breaths. Throughout our day, Let’s Take 5 and see if it doesn’t help.

Who Am I?

We are each spirit experiencing the apparent evolution of human consciousness. Every day is a step along our spiritual path that leads to the Self. Transformation is also available for the more daring.

The Final Word

Are we practicing Full Wave Breathing because it is good for us--or because it is a way of being good to self? Which do you think produces the best result?

EXERCISE CORNER:

Full Wave Breathing is a natural, drug-free, and dramatically effective way to experience health, joy and aliveness that mobilizes and supports your progression toward balance and wholeness. It is a method which accelerates and complements modern healthcare and treatment practices. Use it to inspire yourself so you can inspire others!

The Single Most Important Exercise is Full Wave Breathing

There are 3 Steps, simple as A B C: Abdomen, Belly, and Chest. First, breathe into the lower abdomen and keep your focus there until you can comfortably fill and relax that area of the body. Use your muscles to expand your lower abdomen, beginning at the top or your pubic bone.

Second, after filling the abdomen (A) shift your focus to your entire belly (B) or midsection, stretching and distending your diaphragm and ribs as you inhale. Relax everything as you exhale. Use your muscles to push out the lower abdomen, then expand the area just above.

Third, filling A & B, shift your focus to your chest (C) and above. Having expanded the lower portions of the body, stretch up into the chest and back. Make all of your physical movements gentle and slow. All the movement to become very subtle and gentle as you alternately inhale and exhale without pause.

You may find it more comfortable to begin with distinct movements of your body. Allow the process to become like a dance of movement from bottom to top, top to bottom. Later, allow your body to remain completely relaxed as you visualize the movement of energy through you.

Repeat often for the most dramatic results. For more detailed instruction, read below:

Step One of Full Wave Breathing

Place one hand on the abdomen below the navel and the other on the chest. As you inhale, hold the chest still; allowing the abdomen to expand as if you is filling a balloon. Stretch and extend the lower belly. Relax completely into an inhale at the point where the abdomen is distended fully and the lungs are filled. After exhaling, inhale immediately. The chest does not move at all.

Continue breathing with no pause between inhales and exhale. All of the emphasis is upon your inhale. The exhale is a release of the tension created during your inhale. So you will Inhale and relax...inhale...and relax. Continue as you read this instruction to see how simple it is to perform. Breathe through your nose or mouth as you desire. You increase oxygenation by over 50% when you breathe through your mouth because of the normal restriction in nostril breathing.

Close your eyes as you are breathing and then relax for a few minutes when you are done. Allow your breathing to normalize before continuing with your activities. You may perform this exercise while sitting at the computer, riding in the car, or even watching television. Start practicing this exercise today and you'll be pleased with your result!

To help you stay focused on your breathing, place a book or weighted bag on your lower abdomen when lying down and performing the exercise. If you are sitting, to keep your spine erect, imagine that a rope is attached to the middle of your head. The rope rises into the air. In your imagination, allow the rope to gently lift you up until your spine is erect. Sit straight, be open, and breathe.

Step Two of Full Wave Breathing

Continue breathing with no pause between inhales and exhale. Inhale and Relax...Inhale...and Relax.

Count 1 as you inhale and expand your lower abdomen in Step One. Count 2 as you lengthen your inhale and push out the middle of your torso at the solar plexus. Release tension and allow the body to exhale and repeat. Perform this exercise anytime to relax. Do not perform connected breathing when driving or operating machinery.

When lying down, place a pillow under your knees, not under your neck. When sitting, allow yourself to stretch and open your spine as you sit and breathe.

Close your eyes as you breathe and then relax for a few minutes when you are done. Allow your breathing to normalize and return to your tasks.

Step Three of Full Wave Breathing

Continue breathing with no pause between inhales and exhales. Inhale and relax...Inhale...and relax.

Count 1 as you inhale and push out your lower abdomen. Count 2 as you raise the breath and energetic focus to your solar plexus. Count 3 as you move your breath and muscular focus up into your chest, stretching your intercostal muscles, shoulders and back of the neck. Relax completely when you exhale, allowing the muscles to soften. There is no effort or tension involved in your exhale.

Close your eyes as you breathe and then relax for a few minutes when you are done. Allow your breathing to normalize before continuing with your activities. Perform this exercise anytime you are sitting passively to provide a quick and effective energy boost and relaxation.

Keep your spine straight if sitting and allow to your body to move as you breathe and relax. Feel the wave of inhale as air enters your body and the wave of exhale as it leaves. Increase the volume of air and pace of breathing and feel how it affects your experience.

Since resolving stress at the cellular level is below our awareness, there are times when the breathing is accompanied by laughing or crying as old chemistry breaks up. Simply keep breathing! Allow your body any movement that arises and remember to relax fully when you exhale, softening all your muscles. Continue breathing at your own pace, deeply and fully.

Maintain your own pace and be willing to experiment. Your pace will normally change from day to day and during a session of Full Wave Breathing. Playing music as you breathe helps keep you focused in a gentle rhythm. The Cosmic Waltz, offered by Inspired Living, is the best I know of for this purpose. It focuses on the heart center and expands relaxation throughout the body.

Advanced Full Wave Breathing uses imagery and your kinesthetic sense to enhance your experience as you breathe.

Imagine that you are lying on a beach with the warm sun high overhead and slightly behind you. The tide is coming in and as you inhale, imagine the water following the path of your breathing from your feet to above your head. Each incoming wave brings with it new energy.

As you exhale, allow the water to return to the ocean carrying with it unneeded tension. Allow all of the muscles in your body to become soft as the imagined water leave your body along with the synchronous exhale of your breath. Each exhale returns your energy to the sea of life dissolving what no longer serves you.
