What If It Was As Simple As Remembering To Just Breathe! ...and to then do the next thing? What if the Universe was only awaiting our move into states of mind-body-spirit harmony to produce greater joy and aliveness?
Letter from the Editor (writer, proof reader and researcher) The Planetary Process I first read of the upliftment of humanity, the new dispensation being brought forward and the hopeful shift in consciousness taking place in an article written in 1917! Since then, of course, there has been much activity—including at least 2 world wars and growing conflict leading up to this moment. The US has been through a stock market collapse, depression and recovery to arrive at the present moment of future uncertainty. So what’s going on? People, according to those who suppose to know, are waking up! What this means is, naturally, subject to interpretation. For some it represents the awareness of the political process—of having observed the emperor with no clothes and the eagerness of those in leadership positions to disrobe to satisfy inner cravings as evidenced by New York state’s former governor. For others it means an awareness of the divisive ego orientation displayed not only by politicians, BUT (blessedly) of one’s self. This latter form of awakening is the most helpful both for the individual, the country and the world. For the individual, it means no longer contributing to the support of anger, hate and fear. Each individual who disconnects from (hangs up on) that ego process makes a quiet contribution to the well being of the whole—the country and the world. Yes, in spite of the housing market slump, the stock market movements and the devaluation of the dollar worldwide, there is cause for hope. How is this so? Because the whole reflects outwardly what the individual embraces internally. Thus as more individuals awaken and raise their energetic vibration, the overall vibratory rate is increased. So where is it going and when will we all be eating rainbow stew from a silver cup? That’s up to you as, for each of use, the world and its inhabitants mirror our consciousness. So Harry, an awakened being, moves about in his life meeting friendly people, enjoying both prosperity and health and strengthening the connection with his family. George, on the other hand, is currently asleep—oblivious to the ego state he’s in. Not understanding the mirror effect, his ego blames others, creates impatience and anxiety and undermines his heath. He finds it difficult to get along with anyone and even the family cat and dog do their best to avoid him. When the pain of his life becomes sufficient, he will ask something akin to, “Why me?” Having asked that question of himself, addressed to no one in particular and heard by the Universe nonetheless, his awakening begins. So, you see, the process does work. When the pain of one’s life reaches a certain level, when the individual has had enough; then the questioning begins and awakening takes place. In the overview, you and I must wonder however, how much more can humanity, both in the US and abroad, take? How much more pain is required to trigger the awakening process, and will growing totalitarianism in the name of democracy, economic loss in the name of progress and young men and women’s lives lost in the name of freedom be required? Hang on! It has long been predicted that we are in the final stages of the awakening process. Does it mean the end of ego domination? Does it mean an acceleration of personal power leading to dream and goal fulfillment? Does it mean universal healthcare even for those who refuse to take care of themselves? There are many possibilities aren’t there? As I write on this Friday before Easter as millions prepare to participate in the 3,000 year old tradition of honoring the gods of Persia by hiding, searching for and finding eggs, I ask, “What’s that all about?” As millions also celebrate the promise of resurrection—only a few hundred years old—I ask, “When will they look within?” These questions I share with you in the hope that you will continue to move forward in your own life and, in so doing, become part of the solution to the world’s trials and tensions. You can do your simple part by remaining focused in your life, on your life and with your breathing. Your primary tool, Full Wave Breathing, can keep you present and awake, moving through the dream that is your life and your empowered expression of love. Happy Easter! What if the other side wasn’t on the other side anymore? What if, in her long voyage as a passenger of the solar system, Earth had traveled to a point where dimensions were interpenetrating? It would mean you could talk with dead relatives. And you can. What do you want to know? It would mean that you could be in contact with angels. You can. You might also sense a connection with an inner guide. It could be a relative dead in this world and very much alive in another or a master. Your intuition will tell you. Since it is an inner experience, only you can validate it. If you don’t believe in intuition or trust yours, verify your understanding using a pendulum or other form of kinesiology. You can get instructions on the Internet by using your search engine. Because while you may not yet see this “other” dimension it is accessible to you, it is beyond your physical sight and can be seen only with your “inner vision.” You can feel this dimension very easily—when your mindbody system is quiet and relaxed. Next time you gift yourself with another Full Wave Breathing session, continue for an extra two minutes at a much slower pace. If you were to desire to talk with someone on what was once called the other side, you’d become still and image that person in your mind, feeling what it would be like to be with them, particularly in the space of your heart. Use the same procedure to talk with angels. You can call upon specific ones such as one of the archangels AND you could also ask one to come to you, make its presence known in feeling and ask for a name to use in conversation. If you were serious about this kind of activity, you’d keep a notebook of your talks as you learn to ask questions and receive or “know” answers. Again, you can verify your results with muscle testing or a pendulum. Ask questions and by writing out the responses, in a brief period of time you will have established an energetic connection that you will feel comfortable relying upon. I’ll do it now. I no sooner have this thought of doing so and before I can write, my heart feels a warmth and sensation of fullness as I am aware of the archangel Gabriel. Gabriel would appear in my vision as a being of indeterminate size as there are no objects around him to compare. Smiling more brightly that I would have thought, he has long hair and the typical robe we see angels wear. He doesn’t display any wings. Perhaps that is optional with angels. I would hear these words as he adds comment to our discussion: “Think you are alone? You aren’t. Loneliness is optional. Aloneness is impossible. The dimensions are One in the Unified Field. So you can talk with whomever you like. Angels are readily available to converse with most humans who would make the effort, so that part is easy. The really difficult part of the process is, at a human level, knowing what questions to ask for your greatest benefit, and presumably, your spiritual realization. Please note that I do not use the word, “growth” in conjunction with your spiritual state. Each is already whole and complete, momentarily engaged in a way of limited perception for specific purposes.” “Many think they reincarnate to learn things. They really only reincarnate to know that doing so is their choice. It is, however, predicated upon a system that is based on growth. You see, to “come from spirit” and then be held securely in love, you imagine a story and then live it. This is only a story. When you become aware that it is all a story, the game is up or may lose its attraction. Then reincarnating is optional. It depends upon your choice.” “Speaking of choice, what if you could decide the story you would live? If suddenly you were thrust into the role of spiritual author of your life, what would your best story be? This is an interesting exercise because it will show you where you have, up to this point, had limited thinking. Exercise your imagination as you breathe continuously and ask yourself, “If I were the author what would my story be?” Hopefully you have your journal handy. Let me know if you have any questions.” I didn’t have any questions of Gabriel, finding his exposition to be clear, so, I came back to our discourse on possibility thinking. Remember the predication was “What if Earth had reached a point?” What if it didn’t have anything to do with Earth or her movements through the sea of space? What if it only had to do with you and your time, your story? What then? Keep Breathing! Future Promises Greater Discomfort In an article appearing in Newsweek magazine, dated March 3, it was pointed out that grim and gory depictions on TV make for effective advertising. The article, This is Your Brain on Scary Ads pointed out that while most people didn’t like them, they do work very well. Never mind what happens to your nervous system today if, next week, you go out and buy the product. It has been discovered that In the name of profit, energy draining commercialized violence draws attention resulting in buying behavior. One ad agency exec, when he said that “Some small amount of discomfort was justified if it created positive change,” didn’t contemplate a car or insurance companies showing near-fatal crashes to drum up business. He was speaking of ads created to dissuade teens from driving when drunk and avoiding circumstances that could lead to harm. The effect on the nervous system is, of course, the same and, worse, it is cumulative. As it does accumulate and grow it increases stress on the immune system. The result may (at least) be greater susceptibility to cold and flu viruses and infections.
Next time you feel yourself tightening up as you watch a commercial, see how this works for you. Push your lower belly out while taking in the biggest breath you can. Repeat 5 times or continue breathing as long as the commercial lasts. Notice how you feel. Some people don’t watch the news and are perhaps subconsciously turned off by the scenes of war that the media may use to direct attention against its continuation. Too aware and sensitive to expose themselves purposely to emotionally disquieting circumstances, others have stopped listening to radio news as well. And still others have learned to breathe their way through it, maintaining internal balance and harmony. The world, as Shakespeare pointed out, is a stage. Many characters in many different settings appear to us. The idea implicit in the world being a stage is that we are to watch it and not get caught up into it—or sucked negatively into the drama. Watch the news from this point on without suffering unintended consequence. Breathe deeply and easily. You don’t need to huff and puff. Activate your brain to keep you calm and aware by breathing in and out through the nostrils without pausing in between. Don’t force it; just keep it going. It works like magic and it is really a matter of science—a product of biochemistry. Breathe in this manner anytime before entering into or finding yourself in a stressful situation—or any other time that you’d like to feel calm and aware. IBI shares ways to stay awake in the dream keeping:
Just Breathe! provides ideas, tips and suggestions for attaining optimal health and wellness through lifestyle management--learning to live in harmony and alignment with our holistic nature…and a sometimes humorous look at life on Planet Earth. Just Breathe! is both a magazine of higher consciousness and a home-study course. JB! readers are typically those who know of their make-up as body, mind and spirit. They are referred to as the awakening or awake as contrasted with being asleep to or oblivious of one’s spiritual nature. Just Breathe! is for people consciously embracing their spiritual path. As a whole (holistic, holy) being each of us is comprised of physical, emotional, mental and spiritual aspects coordinated within one unitary expression. The four aspects of the mindbodysoul system are examined and described separately for clarification. From an energetic perspective, each of us is are already whole and complete, expressing our true nature at our individual level of evolution of consciousness. Modern science and ancient wisdom confirm our divinity, the existence of the soul and life that continues beyond physical death. The implications of human nature as consciousness with a “soul” are profound. Scientific revelations validate both ancient and more modern spiritual knowledge. Taking action to be one’s “best” or higher, more enlightened self is generally conceded to be the greatest service or gift to others any one person can make. If there were nothing to fix, and only to realize (make real) one’s true nature, a good first step would be to make real that feeling (of wholeness and completion) in the body by anchoring it with Full Wave Breathing. All that is required is to put Full Wave Breathing to work. Repeated over time, the seemingly miraculous occurs. The Just Breathe! ezine expresses a view of the mindbodysoul aspects of holistic health. It is a monthly newsletter for the awakened and awakening--who know themselves to be multidimensional (energetic, divine sparks) beings with physical, emotional, mental and spiritual aspects. It is for those who practice their spiritual purpose by living lives of greater enlightenment and service through the pathways of Love, Joy and Peace. This ezine is for those whose interest is in their consciousness (increasing conscious awareness) as a spiritual being. Just Breathe! is a community (common unity) connection for awakening and awakened beings, integrating the wonders of Life. Just Breathe! shares a perspective, an alternative (holistic) view of human existence, intended to expand the mind's understanding. The mind then relaxes so the ego “watch dog” role that produces anxiety and tension can be set aside. Head and heart function together to respond to life’s circumstances, operating from "higher" consciousness or being in the flow of life. The general idea is that the more whole one’s life, then the greater is the access to health and happiness. Researcher Dr. David Hawkins points out that to increase awareness even a little is significant because growth is logarithmic rather than linear. Having awakened to, become cognizant of, the process of awakening, the usual next step is to heal the physical level. Otherwise a great deal of energy that could otherwise be utilized at another level of being is expended on maintenance of the body. Healing may or may not involve a “cure” for any condition. The healing step enables the individuated soul to more freely express creativity and joy. Each “healee” then becomes the source-connection of transformation for others. The lower body, housing the gut brain, is harmonized with the head/heart, operating as one. The vibratory effect upon others is harmonious, uplifting and, in-turn, transformative. One-by-one, each part of the whole—represented by the individual-- sounds his note until music abounds.

The by product of being a job generator is that you live in the flow of life, balanced and harmonious in your world. Isn’t it really your mission to pursue joy—the soul connection with life? Once you get it, you have a new mission to spread the joy. Will you be joining me on a joyful journey during the next 12 issues of Just Breathe!? I hope so because joy generators are much needed. Oh, by the way, joy comes from living in the now, neither pulled into the past by guilt and regret nor thrust into the consideration of the future in worry and anxiety. There are 3 Steps to Joy
Focusing in the present using the breath is an easy way to be constantly re-minded of our nature as spiritual beings. Observe your cat or dog as breathing takes place. The inhale and exhale are connected—just like in your Full Wave Breathing exercise. Notice how you breathe today. And exercise your breathing at least once daily for as little as a month and see if it doesn’t help:
Realization What is personal realization? I use this term instead of the one more often thrown about, “enlightenment.” Personal realization is what happens when you realize you are part of the One—actually the One—looking out from the personal identity eyes. The task, after having such an awakening, epiphany or illumination, is to live from that glimpse of conscious awareness full time or to “make real” the awareness. People who take our workshops often report such awakening or enlightening experiences. Then, as is inevitable since we are in bodies for a purpose, the euphoria passes and we are once again confronted with our daily lives. The stressors have not disappeared. Hopefully, however, the insights gained in such moments enable us to embrace life with more love and less reaction. Yeah, don’t we wish! Too often, the weekend ends, and tomorrow is rush hour again, tugs on mommy’s skirt and the pressures of hunting down the next meal. How is a person supposed to deal? As you have learned there is no “supposed to.” Each one of us is already well-equipped to deal with our lives. The solution, as you continue to be reminded, is simple: Just Breathe! and then do the next thing. So I am hoping you’ll continue to be a member of the IBI (say those three letters aloud 3 time and see how it feels) community. If you like, I won’t refer to you as a heavy breather. Besides I’d rather know you as a conscious soul. My job? (Acronym for Joy Of Being) My job is to tune into what is needed in the readership group and write about effectively handling the challenges presented by living in a body in these increasingly challenging times. You’ll begin to notice that the people around you find it more difficult more people to stay centered and balanced. Your job is to maintain a heart-oriented focus as you observe this taking place. Doing so is a gift to yourself and those around you. Avoid many of the difficulties inherent in living in these exciting times by remembering to Just Breathe!...and then do the next thing. Remembering is easier than ever with Full Wave Breathing and this ezine as reminders. So consider the Just Breathe! Ezine as champion of your cause.. Just Breathe! is a simple statement with which to begin. Then the newsletter provides suggestions and ideas so you can most effectively discover what the next thing IS for you. I look forward to increasing my service to you. As always, you can email me with any questions or suggestions.
Training the Brain
The usual human tendency is to have to hear or read things many times before acceptance sinks in. This very normal process occurs when an idea is first introduced. Repeated exposure then brings us to acceptance, and finally adoption of an idea. Then changes occur automatically as if by some magical process. It is a magical process in that science cannot yet explain how, as our attitude shifts, the cells respond as if they were conscious. If they act as if they are conscious, what does that tell us about their nature? Note: See Advanced Full Wave Breathing at the end of the exercise instruction. A Simple Message That Bears Repeating Use Full Wave Breathing to effectively manage 85% of your biochemistry and boost your mindbodysoul system's natural healing ability. How important is this in your life? How great do you want to feel? What would happen if you tithed 10% of your time to your spiritual unfoldment? What kind of result do you imagine would occur? 2.4 hours per day x 6 days would give you the equivalent of a day and a half of normal “work” time devoted just to you. What kind of results would you expect? Those who practice Full Wave Breathing daily report incredible results. Start where you are and build progressively—like any other kind of exercise. Detailed instruction, exercise and testimonials are in the new book now available to Just Breathe! readers. Breathe and Grow Rich—Self Care to Enrich Your Whole Life leads you to the missing link to manifestation.
If you don't take care of your own health you become

Pose your question about your condition is your mind: Mindbody, what do I need to do about _______? Then Full Wave Breathe for 15 minutes and note your insights and answers. It usually doesn’t even take that long before you get an answer and achieve understanding of what steps to take.
Self-Responsible LoveCare™
Our mind and body work well until overloaded with stressors accumulating in cells and tissues. Chronic stress then makes us become a shallow breather, wearing down the immune system. Blood becomes toxic, and lacking oxygen and energy, the body is unable to defend itself against either internal or environmental stressors. The result is discomfort, disease, disability and premature death. Fortunately, for the wise, there is an alternative! Each of us can practice protective and preventative, remedial and restorative self-care by doing the things we already know to do to support autoimmune health: Update beliefs, eliminate toxins in food and water, manage toxic emotions, avoid toxic noise and breathe!
Use Full Wave Breathing to simultaneously stimulate and relax the mindbody system Become aware of the body breathing, allowing thoughts to pass and enter a meditative state of calm alertness. is the name of the book and I’ll have it available for you in a couple of months. Meanwhile, if you join me as one of the Just Breathe! Ezine paid subscribers, you’ll be receiving monthly excerpts and commentary that takes you deeper into the subject of Your Healthy Heart. It is just part of what Just Breathe! members will be receiving. The following excerpt will give you an idea of the kind of info you get when becoming a subscriber "Most people would rather die than think; in fact, they do." --Bertrand Russell It is an act of Love when you learn something new and use it in your life. My desire for you is you will enjoy a long life and experience a health span equal to your life span. By applying new methods of self-care and learning to regard yourself as a whole, multi-dimensional being, you renew yourself and increase your vitality. Rest assured, heart-centered living is achievable, accessible, and very naturally healthy.--Tom Goode, ND, December 22, 2006 Traditional medicine as practiced medically examines sick people and works very hard to fix them. Natural medicine examines the principles embodied in well people and learns from them. One of the first things you would learn is that happier people are generally healthier and have healthier hearts. They create more abundance, have better relationships and enjoy better health. It works the other way around, too. Healthier people have more energy with which to create abundance, participate in life, and enjoy the company of other people. It’s a cycle of health that feeds itself to keep a person feeling energetic and constantly renewed regardless of physical age.
Your Healthy Heart teaches you how to initiate this cycle of health and keep it going. Traditional medicine alone is inadequate, because you are much more than a mechanical body. Surgery and synthetic medicines are drastic measures; there are other less extreme, less invasive measures available to you to keep you healthy without causing disturbing and disabling side effects.
In this book, the focus is upon your heart for a very good reason. The heart is much, much more than a pump. It is at the center of your body and the core of your very being. Did you know that your heart produces ten times the electromagnetic field of any other organ? This is important for you to know, because after all, you are an energetic being.
Three Realms There are three realms to your physical existence: the physical, the non-physical, and the spiritual. You have a physical body made of cells and atoms, comprised of bones, skin, blood, organs, hormones, and so much more. You also have a non-physical body that holds your emotions and thoughts; this is where archetypes are held. Your physical, emotional and mental bodies together form your soul.
Energetic vibrations from the spiritual realm are attracted to the soul and coalesce into physical matter, sparked by Life. You breathe in spiritual essence, bringing oxygen to the blood that pumps through your heart and feeds every part of your body.
Traditional medical methodology approaches heart disease based on Newtonian physical principals. Yet, because we also live in a non-physical world, the endless analysis, naming of symptoms and looking to constituent DNA yield only partial answers. In the meantime, heart disease and stroke increase their grip on an aging population.
Thought and Emotion The non-physical world of thought and emotions are important aspects of your health often overlooked by doctors trained in specialized uses of drugs and surgery. Drugs and surgery have their place in symptomatic remedy and repair. But in no way are they the ultimate answer. A long-term, real solution requires that a much broader scope be taken into account beyond just treating a collection of physical symptoms.
Needless complication makes it difficult for the average consumer to know what to do for their heart. Drugs, even when they work, frequently have disabling or life-threatening side effects. There are usually natural substances that work much more gently, without destroying other parts or systems of your body.
The non-physical world understandings of quantum physics, invisible particles and non-linear dynamics have important information for all who value their health. The latest sciences of psychoneuroimmunolgy (PNI) and psychobiology reveal how all parts of the mind-body system are interconnected and in constant communication.
Because each part of your whole mind-body system is connected, what benefits your heart health automatically benefits your overall health. A heart-healthy approach to daily living staves off not only heart disease but also other physical ailments, as well as the perhaps more elusive but equally significant ailments of the mind and conditions. Whole heart-healthy living can reduce depression, anxiety, panic attacks, and similar illnesses
Knowing how the organs, cells and molecules communicate enables you to stimulate powerful healing responses within your mind-body. Then, taking self-loving action, you begin to feel better. People notice that you look and act younger. Your mood improves and you have energy for all that you want to do.
In addition, within what is called the “non-local field” you are in constant connected communication with other energy fields, including the individual energies of other people. Learning how the field works gives you powerful tools in your relationship with others. Use them for your health, wealth and happiness.

High Blood Pressure, Anxiety and Worry Have high blood pressure? Worried or anxious about the future? “Deep breathing is the first line of defense against chronic stress and resultant high blood pressure” –Bruce West, MD “Elevated blood pressure accompanies those bodily states where rapid, shallow breathing prevails. By altering breathing to a slow a diaphragmatic mode, blood pressure decreases. Elevated blood pressure is a major American health problem.” - Robert Fried, PhD, The Breath Connection Use Full Wave Breathing to promote the unimpeded flow of consciousness through every cell in the body as healing takes place on all levels. Our breathing affects
Practice Full Wave Breathing for 30 days, and see if life doesn’t absolutely transform! Utilize Full Wave Breathing daily as an exercise leading to a healthy habit, avoiding many dis-ease states and enjoying life more fully. Enjoying life more fully enables us to make a greater contribution to the life in whatever way we desire for “soul satisfaction.” Since we will be breathing for as long as we are alive. Doesn't it just make good sense to perform it in a way that supports rather than undermines health? Of course it does—so start today! Build a new habit of breathing that enhances instead of diminishes the Life Force in the body.
My desire and hope for you is for you to that you will suspend any tendency toward disbelief and actually test the information presented. When it works, and you be the soul judge, then make it part of an enlightened life. Thank you for reading Just Breathe!
Just For Today! Eavesdropping on a Conversation (continued from last month) The vision faded as he found himself back in his room, alert on his bed and ready for the day ahead. He had taken many such travels both to this and other teachers. It seemed natural and normal now. Yet he recalled a time when it was new and strange. He had begun his journey abruptly. As surely as if a trapdoor had opened and he had fallen into another reality, everything was different. He remembered his “previous” life and how he had gotten to a jumping off spot. He jumped with awareness too, and didn’t blindly blunder into something unseen. Torn from his middle-class life and thrust into a society of healers, vegetarian feeders, shamanic teachers, sexologists and psychics, he had no background or training in their world or their art. Fortunately he was a fast learner or it may be that he “remembered.” One school of philosophy holds that we don’t learn and instead we only remember what has already been known. It must be that or somehow being able to access a library of information existing in a group mind—that includes everyone—and then be able to claim the knowledge as one’s own. The first time he experience the “remembering” had to do with becoming an energy healer. It started with a visit to a psychic and he wasn’t impressed. For a fee of $150 in today’s world, the reader told his then-wife that she needed to wear wider shoes without heels. He’d been telling her that for years whenever she complained about her feet being tired or swollen. To pay someone for that bit of sage wisdom was not very impressive. The psychic did, however, have some information for him. She described a large energy presence “around him” and that was, somehow, a good thing. He figured she was just stroking his ego so he wouldn’t be too put off at his wife experience—which she found somehow fascinating. Other psychic readers told him the same thing about there being an energy around him. It was during the period where he was concentrating on cleansing his energy; by changing what he ate and, from time to time, fasting for extended periods. He had already left his old world, his college educated job, his middle-class goals and his traditional family. Was he done with that completely? He didn’t know at the time and not that it didn’t matter to him—it did--AND he was doing this thing, this something else. It turned out that his body had become ill from the negative effects of stress. This happened at a time when life stressors weren’t as completely understood for their underlying role in disease states as they are now. He had been living someone else’s life—and it was killing him. Following the dictates and directions of his culture, he followed high school with college, college with a corporate job, and the job with marriage and children. Everything appeared, on the outside, to be working well. He enjoyed his career success, receiving acknowledgement and financial reward for his efforts. His family was housed in an upscale suburban neighborhood, wooded and quiet. They owned property on a lot with a barn on it overlooking the lake. Someday they’d build a retirement home there. Their stock portfolio was healthy and growing and the family’s income from his efforts was more than, together, they could spend. They owned and enjoy the popular toys including a boat and pets and had ample vacation time each year for travel and relaxation. And it was killing him. He found that he was living the life everyone had planned for him—grandmother, parents, his schools and his culture. And he was doing it well. The toil, however, was taking its toll. He found out that he didn’t want to be doing what he was doing earning a living. It was, however, the only thing he knew to do. He found out that he didn’t want to do what he had been doing in relationship to his wife. She seemed to be some creation from his mother’s idea of womanhood rather than that of his own. He also found that he couldn’t agree with the values his education had imposed upon him—prejudicial views, narrow mind and unquestioned beliefs. As I said, it was if a trapdoor had suddenly opened. The world in which he found himself was people that were healers—numberless individuals devoted to the care and well being of those who, like himself, didn’t know any better. Who would have believed that he had been drinking water all of his life that had chemicals that the government knew were unhealthy for him? And eating what was called food that, once you found out what was in it and what it did to you, you wouldn’t lovingly feed it to anyone. And if those two things, the bedrock of his regular existence were false, what else would he discover? It turned out there was plenty of information available. You just had to search for it. There was no Internet, only libraries and bookstores. The libraries themselves often didn’t contain books with the truth he needed. Instead those volumes—some hundreds of years old—usually showed up in bookstores—used and specialized like the ones at Unity. He had thought he was in pursuit of his health. He didn’t know it would take over his entire life. Health, he discovered, contains and reflects everything. There is nothing that does not impact health as it exists in the context of a complete human being—body, mind and spirit. His had been a focus almost exclusively on the physical. He had successfully trained himself not to feel; to numb out so he could be a good worker, citizen, and provider. And it was killing him. Now, like Alice falling through to Wonderland, he found himself in a strange world where things had meaning—including his feelings—that previously had no meaning and that he had successfully ignored in terms of accumulation and material possessions—to the detriment of his health. Now he was being asked by his environment, this new world into which he had plunged, to revaluate everything. Only his experience would yield the truth. It lay not in the opinions are values of others. He had lived through the experience depicted in the first card of Tarot. Tarot had been one of his many teachers. Steeped in a tradition of secrecy across two thousand years, the Tarot was a foremost in his mind a system of knowledge, as well as its more sought after use as a complex system of divination. Popularized in the 16th Century, Tarot has originated in Ancient India. The major arcane--face cards—represent the archetypes of humanity and describe the characteristics available to the human soul for adoption and expression. The minor arcana—numbered cards—recount the spiritual journey of the seeker of Self. One begins this journey in the Tarot depiction as The Fool, shown sniffing a flower as he strolls, preoccupied with the scent arising, off a steep cliff. The Fool is also the last card in the deck; except this time the character is perceived to walk with full awareness—and open heart—off into the void. As a student of Tarot he learned the highly complex 78 card system by continuing contact with a Master Teacher. Simply put, instead of investing time in learning the esoteric Waite-Ryder system of Hermetic wisdom, he absorbed it. Finding that was the case by being with his teacher, the cards themselves communicated their meaning. All he had to do was create the quiet space within and wait for words and feelings to arise to his consciousness. Of course he had to undergo a preliminary training to be able to tune in and receive impressions and intuit meaning. He had changed his diet, eliminating toxins, so that his energy was “clear” and not devoted excessive energy to staying healthy. He had changed his method of exercise as well. He no longer struggled with becoming stronger or more impressive in appearance--and carrying excessive tension. Instead, he had chosen breathing as his exercise. That choice had revealed even more choices to make in managing his energy and following the unfoldment of his life as a path. He had learned that you don’t need to sit inside a mountain cave to be spiritual; ‘though, there were cases where that was observed to be taking place. Far easier, he thought, to be able to send one’s energy body to such places, including the so-called sacred sites around the world. Travel as a tourist had become unappealing in the modern world. Learning to do such things as work with his energy body instead of his physical body did, however, require a certain amount of focus and practice. That and a new set of understandings as to how the world worked, who everyone and everything was, and how to be in harmony with IT’s process. It began with diet. Taken as an acronym (a word made from the first letters of a phrase or sentence) the Daily Intake of Everything revealed both that everything in life was interconnected and interrelated, in addition to being a way of understanding the rich choices each person has to and does make about their lives. Even making no choice involves making a choice not to choose. The shallowest inquiry would reveal that the human body was a creature of nature and as such could be treated with respect for its expression of life. Treated well, the body had a long history of self-healing and communication with its occupant, tho most ignored it even to the point of thinking they were it and totally identifying it. He found it strange that people could refer to their body or its parts as a possession—“It’s my body; my hand, my arm”—instead of the body or “the body’s hand” or just “the arm.” As he discovered, an ego identification with the body or its process and pain did not lead to a sense of balance or peace. (continued next month) The ABC's of Higher Consciousness Attitude--expectant or repellant; positive or negative; open or closed to Life; and embracing as differentiated from resisting; healing or declining; We can get better or get bitter. Make it a nice day! Breath--Let the exhale demonstrate the complete surrender to God/Universe of all cares and concerns; becoming non-resistant to the tensions of the body, relaxing the cells, molecules and atoms. Consciously directing our breathing throughout your day re-minds us of our spiritual nature, and is a boost to health and energy. Choice—We either listen to the voice for Love or the voice for Fear, that of ego. One knows that all are innocent; the other blames and sees the guilty. The choice is ours:
Determination--Nothing happens without our dedicated effort. Even something as simple as breathing requires our participation. To achieve more in life, there must be more invested. Usually all that is required is the gift of time. Let’s give it to ourselves. Energy--All is energy vibrating at different rates. Each lives, moves and has its being in this Energy. It is called Soul, Creator/Source, God, Universe, All That Is. IT is bigger than can be imagined. Focus--What we focus upon grows. Focus upon
Our deepest dream is of unity, enlightenment, experiencing oneness, realization, actualization, transcendent consciousness--and not of material things. This is why when we get them, achieve, and succeed, we hunger for more. The most helpful dream is to achieve enlightenment. It continues after awakening. Freedom—In our soul we are free. The challenge is to bring that freedom fully into our life through management of our energy. Our beliefs create our emotions and inform our health. What is required is individual to each of us; yet the path is similar as we ask, what beliefs would be required to produce a life of freedom, grace and ease —and adopt them. Grace--There is a never-ending flow of grace awaiting our awareness so that: Life is more joyous, and the bumps on the path become less disruptive as we learn/remember/awaken into higher mind, beyond that of egoic consciousness. Full Wave Breathing can make the journey easier than ever before. Think of grace as effortless growth through your connection with joy. Heaven or Hell—We get to choose which state to engage. If, as the master teachers say, “Heaven is within,” why don’t we going there more often to visit? What would happen if we devoted (consecrated) 100 breaths each day to do so? Who among us dares not find out? Integrity—Being whole and complete is the essential nature of each individual--the potential seeking expression. What would happen if we each dedicated the next 100 Full Wave Breaths to feeling our wholeness, our integrity? Joy—The vibration of Joy takes us out of person-ality and is the product of our connection with unity. Becoming a Joy finder in all that you we do, making it part of our daily and life mission, calls us forward into greater life. The path to Joy is the dedication of life--our life, all life--to the good of all. Kindness--Considered as one of the seven virtues, opposites of the seven deadly sins, Kindness is being helpful to one in need for the advantage of the person helped. It is treating the other as self, expressing our deeper connection and responding from the heart. Kindness is caring in action. Love—The substrate of being, the underlying nature of the unified field, the interconnectedness of all life and the unquestioning regard for all living expression. Multiplicity—The nature of the One is manifest in multiplicity. Imagine each choice giving rise to an alternate universe—All That Is encompassing every possibility. The mind cannot hold it all or decide amongst the choices. The inner battle is won when the mind defers to the heart’s wisdom. Natural—It is natural for the body to heal itself when the impediments and blocks to healing are removed. You are already whole and complete as a being. You are naturally your best self. Nothing more is required than to be natural. To become natural usually requires removing the unnatural—the ego thoughts and programs of lack and limitation. Opportunity—Each moment brings us the choice to serve the ego or the true self. You can usually tell which choice you made by the way you feel. Are you calm and filled with peace? If not, as the Course in Miracles says, choose again. Take a few Full Wave Breaths, affirm that you serve the true self and continue with what you were doing. Doing so is a reminder that you are already whole and complete and, if you were serving the ego, had simply gone temporarily insane. It is no big thing, for with even one conscious breath to power your intention to be your best self, you are back on track and leaving the thoughts of worry and regret or anxiety and tension. Enjoy yourself! (Pump joy INTO your self) As you inhale through your nostrils, sniff twice. With the first sniff push your lower abdomen out; with the second, your mid-section. Exhale and contract your abdomen toward the spine. Perform this breath to a count of one-two on the inhale and one as you exhale. his breath stimulates the solar plexus and energizes the physical body. Continue for three minutes as you begin and see how you feel. Imagine your solar plexus becoming a radiant golden ball of light with each inhale. Increase the brightness with each breath. Make it your intention to connect with unlimited energy as you breathe and visualize your solar plexus increasing in brightness. Repeat daily and see what happens.
