As a whole (holistic, holy) being each of us is comprised of physical, emotional, mental and spiritual aspects coordinated within one unitary expression. The four aspects of the mindbodysoul system are examined and described separately for clarification. From an energetic perspective, each of us is are already whole and complete, expressing our true nature at our individual level of evolution of consciousness. Modern science and ancient wisdom confirm our divinity, the existence of the soul and life that continues beyond physical death. The implications of human nature as consciousness with a “soul” are profound. Scientific revelations validate both ancient and more modern spiritual knowledge. Taking action to be one’s “best” or higher, more enlightened self is generally conceded to be the greatest service or gift to others any one person can make. The Soul
The general idea is that the more whole one’s life, then the greater is the access to health and happiness. Researcher Dr. David Hawkins points out that to increase awareness even a little is significant because growth is logarithmic rather than linear. Having awakened to, become cognizant of, the process of awakening, the usual next step is to heal the physical level. Otherwise a great deal of energy that could otherwise be utilized at another level is expended on maintenance of the body. Healing may or may not involve a “cure” for any condition. The healing step enables the individuated soul to more freely express creativity and joy. Each “healee” then becomes the source-connection of transformation for others. The lower body, housing the gut brain, is harmonized with the head/heart operating as one. The vibratory effect upon others is harmonious, uplifting and, in-turn, transformative. One-by-one, each part of the whole—represented by the individual-- sounds his note until music abounds.

These are all good questions that I would want answered before I charged up my credit or debit card. Here’s the thing: stressors are going to increase. That’s right. There will be more noise—both from the media and the environment. As there is more chaos outside, you need more order inside. Who else is going to remind you to breathe or lead you through exercises for your soul? Nooo-body! If you don’t take time out to go within with your breathing, reflection and meditation, the consequences are not pretty. I can’t sit you down and breathe with you or get you to post reminders in your home and car--AND I can help keep you conscious of your breathing. So the “new” ezine will be more direct in addressing some of the foibles and false-steps that lie in the path of greater personal realization. What is personal realization? I use this term instead of the one more often thrown about, “enlightenment.” Personal realization is what happens when you realize you are part of the One—actually the One—looking out from the personal identity eyes. The task, after having such an awakening, epiphany or illumination, is to live from that glimpse of conscious awareness full time or to “make real” the awareness. People who take our workshops often report such awakening or enlightening experiences. Then, as is inevitable since we are in bodies for a purpose, the euphoria passes and we are once again confronted with our daily lives. The stressors have not disappeared. Hopefully, however, the insights gained in such moments enable us to embrace life with more love and less reaction. Yeah, don’t we wish! Too often, the weekend ends, and tomorrow is rush hour again, tugs on mommy’s skirt and the pressures of hunting down the next meal. How is a person supposed to deal? As you have learned there is no “supposed to.” Each one of us is already well-equipped to deal with our lives. The solution, as you continue to be reminded, is simple: Just Breathe! and then do the next thing. So I am hoping you’ll continue to be a member of the IBI (say those three letters aloud 3 time and see how it feels) community. If you like, I won’t refer to you as a heavy breather. Besides I’d rather know you as a conscious soul. My job? (Acronym for Joy Of Being) My job is to tune into what is needed in the readership group and write about effectively handling the challenges presented by living in a body in these increasingly challenging times. You may remember when the ezine had a lot of health tips—drink this, take that vitamin. There will be some more of that—like (free tip here!—pay attention!) you really would benefit from extra Vitamin D3, particularly those who live in the Northeastern part of the US. When Caron and I lived there, we took off every February for a place of warmth and sunlight to deal with the long winters. Later, science told us that our intuitive migration was actually a natural method of addressing a new malady—Sunlight Affective Disorder—SAD. Seems as if you don’t get enough sunlight, you become depressed. I also put full spectrum lights in the house to offset the shorter days and longer winter nights. Here
is the truth: You have a dis-ease! It is part of being human—a word that means

avoid dealing (denial). To
prevent this from wrecking the lives of his subjects, the king hired two people
who stood, one on each side of him, to keep him awake and alert. Called
“flappers,” they held wands and whenever the king would nod off, they would flap
him with their wand and bring him back to himself. Call
me and the Just Breathe! newsletter a flapper. The job? Keep you focused for the
benefit of all of the subjects in your kingdom—viral, bacteriological and
cellular; organ systems as well as family, friends, co-workers and creditors.

The usual
human tendency is to have to hear or read things many times before acceptance
sinks in. This very normal process occurs when an idea is first introduced.
Repeated exposure then brings us to acceptance, and finally adoption of an idea.
Then changes occur automatically as if by some magical process. It is a magical
process in that science cannot yet explain how, as our attitude shifts, the
cells respond as if they were conscious. If they act as if they are conscious,
what does that tell us about their nature?

At The
Crossroads—It’s Your Choice—the heaven of health freedom or the hell of
healthcare Which
way will you go? Which way will you believe? One road is paved with good
intentions—to conquer disease and lay waste to the home of the invader.
Unfortunately that home to which waste is being laid means your body.

costly for the pilgrim venturing along the paved way of modern medicine. Off
the road and on the path, there are no priests lurking to steal your
self-confidence or plunder your hope with diagnosis. There are only wise women
and men who know of the true god, the god of Nature. Their god says that the
body is self healing and neither a burden, nor a curse. Instead, their god says
the pilgrim only need observe the laws of energetic harmony and balance to find
the promised land of health. You
are expected to religiously practice the habits of good health so you are never
taken prisoner and confined in hospital or clinic, punished by being forced to
ingest or be injected with anti-biotics or other toxic substances. You are
expected to make rational choices to care for your mindbody system as if it were
an exuberant child; that is, with a firm and loving hand. Habits
can lead to the heaven of health freedom or the hell of healthcare.
The
habit of self-care is the most important one and may require being self-taught.
The vital habit of listening to the part of you that knows best can be
cultivated with periods of quiet, reflection and contemplation; relaxing,
breathing and meditating. These are methods of celebration and not austerities
or rituals to be practiced. Which

Student Tell
me Master Teacher, what am I to make of it? You required me to perform
austerities and become a vegetarian for 6 months before you’d take me as your
student. Only then did you know I had the mental focus to be able to utilize the
teachings and discipline the mindbody. Now,
part of my work was to make it simple for the people to find the inner spark of
their own divinity. That was what you taught me to see and honor in all beings.
So all I’ve asked them to do is Just Breathe! and they still don’t get it, don’t
or can’t do it.
Master Teacher
Teacher of little children are we all. You must also make it easy. Calling it so
makes it so. Teach how easy it is. It is. It is made much easier with the music
you offer. As for
the austerities, the culture still believes in the value of suffering, so I gave
them a few things to change and it helped their physical bodies. Breathing is
good though some may see its pleasure as unfamiliar. The current societal focus
is more on avoiding pain that embracing pleasure. They
are yet young in understanding, and the awakening continues. So make it easy for
them as well as simple—train more facilitators, create media products, provide
access and tell them stories.
Student I even
showed them how, seeing their own divine spark they could use their breath to
fan the spark into a flame and energize their living. The ego resistance to
feeling fully again is significant, and, of course the remedy is in the
breathing which is resisted. So we throw parties and celebrate and call them
workshops and seminars. We play music so they can dance with and become friendly
with their breathing. People
ask for advice and I see that if I tell them that Bill had the same problem they
did and used breathing, they hear me better that if I say to them, “Just
Breathe! I have
also spoken about transcending the domination of the intellect and the
realignment of the limbic system in the simplest of terms to understand: Crank
up the breathing. Do it a certain way for a limited period of time and see what
happens.

do as you must and love them well. It is your joyful task to be a teacher of the
heart. Your mission has been to serve as an en-brightener, not an enlightener.
You show them how to grow into their energetic Presence. The
culture is trained to feel unworthy and so the thought of becoming the director
of one’s own movie is not a common one. For it to be so simple as you have
presented is difficult to accept. Struggle is an accepted and revered price to
pay for achievement on your Earth. You,

this. And teachers and parents, and social workers and others in the caring
professions. And students and athletes and in corporations and nursing homes.

Our
deepest dream is of unity, enlightenment, experiencing oneness, realization,
actualization, transcendent consciousness--and not of material things. This is

dream is to achieve enlightenment. It continues after awakening.
Freedom—In
our soul we are free. The challenge is to bring that freedom fully into our life
through management of our energy. Our beliefs create our emotions and inform our
health. What is required is individual to each of us; yet the path is similar as
we ask, what beliefs would be required
to produce a
life of freedom, grace and ease
—and
adopt them.
Grace--There
is a never-ending flow of grace awaiting our awareness so that: Life is more
joyous, and the bumps on the path become less disruptive as we
learn/remember/awaken into higher mind, beyond that of egoic consciousness. Full

Heaven
or Hell—We get to choose which state toll engage. If, as the master teachers
say, “Heaven is within,” why don’t we going there more often to visit? What
would happen if we devoted (consecrated) 100 breaths each day to do so? Who
among us dares not find out?
Integrity—Being
whole and complete is the essential nature of each individual--the potential
seeking expression. What would happen if we each dedicated the next 100 Full
Wave Breaths to feeling our wholeness, our integrity?
Joy—The
vibration of Joy takes us out of person-ality and is the product of our
connection with unity. Becoming a Joy finder in all that you we do, making it
part of our daily and life mission, calls us forward into greater life.
The path to Joy is the
dedication of life--our life, all life--to the good of all.
Kindness--
Considered as
one of the
seven virtues, opposites of the
seven deadly sins, Kindness is being
helpful to one in need for the advantage of the person helped. It is treating
the other as self, expressing our deeper connection and responding from the
heart. Kindness is caring in action.
Love—The
substrate of being, the underlying nature of the unified field, the
interconnectedness of all life and the unquestioning regard for all living
expression.
Multiplicity—The
nature of the One is manifest in multiplicity. Imagine each choice giving rise
to an alternate universe—All That Is encompassing every possibility. The mind
cannot hold it all or decide amongst the choices. The inner battle is won when
it defers to the heart’s wisdom.

Connecting with the Web of Love
Breathing the Web. Here is a simple, yet powerful way of
connecting with the Web of Love through breath. Close your eyes for a minute and
imagine a sparkling, energetic web connecting the deepest essence of all people
in the world. Consider placing your hands over your heart or the center of your
chest as you do this. Take a few deep breaths as you open to this image.
Now, while taking a slow, very deep inhale, say
to yourself:
Repeat this a few times while opening your heart fully to all the
love present. Make sure to fill your lungs completely on the in breath and to
exhale fully on breathing out. Doing this for just a minute or less can
powerfully shift you into a more loving space. Try it now, and invite yourself
to really let the love flow!
The "you" in these sacred love statements can be all people on
the planet, or it can be any individual you choose. For some, it might be easier
to start this exercise by imagining the one to whom you feel closest in your
life. Breathe the web with that special someone in mind and let the love flow
between you. Then envision other people in your life and do the same. When you
are ready, envision groups with which you are involved and eventually all people
who share our world. This simple breathing exercise can be deeply meaningful in
either a personal or a global context.
There may be times when you want to breathe the web, but can’t
remember the words used above. “Love to me, love to you,” is all you need to
feel the web. You can create your own sayings, too, with words that are more
meaningful to you. The most important element is your intention to connect
with all people on this beautiful planet through the Web of Love.

I have
recently completed my campaign to loose 40 pounds, achieved after a year. Now,
how can I maintain my weight? I have reduced my intake by 400 calories per day
and exercise ½ every day. Dear Recently Slender, The age old formula is still eat less, exercise more. Better yet, I’d say stay in shape and eat healthy. It’s a question of balance. I know a woman, call her Sue, she isn’t heavy and she knows what to do. She eats healthy foods and only when she is hungry—not on a clocked schedule; doesn’t consume pollutants—smoke, drugs, alcohol, or sugary stuff; takes supplements appropriate to her environment and activity, breathes as a meditation almost every day, has loving and forgiving thoughts for all and likes and is liked by children and pets. The answer, in short, is that she doesn’t need to exercise as a particular ritual. Compare her situation to that of Sally who eats fast food, is around smokers, works in a stressful environment and doesn’t like to swallow pills (supplements or anything else). Her daily pattern is to get up and take off, running at full tilt until its time to go home, where she will eat a frozen dinner--if she didn’t do carry-out-- and collapse in front of the TV until bedtime. Sally, even if she had no other toxic additions to her lifestyle—and she does—needs to exercise at least an hour five days a week if she wants to remain free from disease. She would need to do even more if she didn’t reduce her stress as well. Otherwise, she can expect weight gain, heart problems, and gradual eroding of her immune function. Sounds normal doesn’t it? She also needs to start out with a huge number of supplements to correct her dietary imbalances and help the body detoxify. Now there is nothing better about one lifestyle or the other. Most of us are somewhere in between. Where in between is up to us. This is not to say that we disregard mind completely. For in order to achieve stability, common sense in the third dimension world is just as important to making things happen as is the flow of our intuitive perception. Detachment is the opposite of not caring. It is because we do care—about our well being and peace of mind—that we keep an open mind, remembering that things DO work out for our best interest in the long run. EXERCISE CORNER: Full Wave Breathing is a natural, drug-free, and dramatically effective way to experience health, joy and aliveness that mobilizes and supports your progression toward balance and wholeness. It is a method which accelerates and complements modern healthcare and treatment practices. Use it to inspire yourself so you can inspire others! The Single Most Important Exercise is Full Wave Breathing There are 3 Steps, simple as A B C: Abdomen, Belly, and Chest. First, breathe into the lower abdomen and keep your focus there until you can comfortably fill and relax that area of the body. Use your muscles to expand your lower abdomen, beginning at the top or your pubic bone. Second, after filling the abdomen (A) shift your focus to your entire belly (B) or midsection, stretching and distending your diaphragm and ribs as you inhale. Relax everything as you exhale. Use your muscles to push out the lower abdomen, then expand the area just above. Third, filling A & B, shift your focus to your chest (C) and above. Having expanded the lower portions of the body, stretch up into the chest and back. Make all of your physical movements gentle and slow. All the movement to become very subtle and gentle as you alternately inhale and exhale without pause. You may find it more comfortable to begin with distinct movements of your body. Allow the process to become like a dance of movement from bottom to top, top to bottom. Later, allow your body to remain completely relaxed as you visualize the movement of energy through you. Repeat often for the most dramatic results. For more detailed instruction, read below: Step One of Full Wave Breathing Place one hand on the abdomen below the navel and the other on the chest. As you inhale, hold the chest still; allowing the abdomen to expand as if you is filling a balloon. Stretch and extend the lower belly. Relax completely into an inhale at the point where the abdomen is distended fully and the lungs are filled. After exhaling, inhale immediately. The chest does not move at all. Continue breathing with no pause between inhales and exhale. All of the emphasis is upon your inhale. The exhale is a release of the tension created during your inhale. So you will Inhale and relax...inhale...and relax. Continue as you read this instruction to see how simple it is to perform. Breathe through your nose or mouth as you desire. You increase oxygenation by over 50% when you breathe through your mouth because of the normal restriction in nostril breathing. Close your eyes as you are breathing and then relax for a few minutes when you are done. Allow your breathing to normalize before continuing with your activities. You may perform this exercise while sitting at the computer, riding in the car, or even watching television. Start practicing this exercise today and you'll be pleased with your result! To help you stay focused on your breathing, place a book or weighted bag on your lower abdomen when lying down and performing the exercise. If you are sitting, to keep your spine erect, imagine that a rope is attached to the middle of your head. The rope rises into the air. In your imagination, allow the rope to gently lift you up until your spine is erect. Sit straight, be open, and breathe. Step Two of Full Wave Breathing Continue breathing with no pause between inhales and exhale. Inhale and Relax...Inhale...and Relax. Count 1 as you inhale and expand your lower abdomen in Step One. Count 2 as you lengthen your inhale and push out the middle of your torso at the solar plexus. Release tension and allow the body to exhale and repeat. Perform this exercise anytime to relax. Do not perform connected breathing when driving or operating machinery. When lying down, place a pillow under your knees, not under your neck. When sitting, allow yourself to stretch and open your spine as you sit and breathe. Close your eyes as you breathe and then relax for a few minutes when you are done.
